I like so many was lured into buying the blu as a first e-cig. Yes, I have flogged myself accordingly as punishment for my stupidity. I however didn't come to my senses in time to send it back for my money back. *sad panda* I did however figure out a few tricks to using the blu that can make it a usable backup to my current 510. If you're in the same boat as me you might want to use this trick.
I found that my biggest problem with the blue was the terrible wicking from the carts. It was slow and sometimes wouldn't clear the reservoir. Which in turn led to short cart life and sporadic vapor production.
3 easy steps to this mod:
1. Pop out the reservoir with a paper clip.
2. Use a razor to cut off the first 3-4mm of the cart from the mouth end not the atty end.
3. Use your blu as a direct drip.
Yes this seems overly simple. Yes I too barely call this a respectable mod. Yes it seems like a quick BS mod for a poor product, but this is me trying to find a silver lining. I now use my blu for flavor experimentation mostly but it also comes in handy as a back up if I forget to charge my 510 bats.
Pros to this mod:
3-4 drops for me equals about 14 drags, which happens to be my average number of drags on an analog.
You get, to be honest, good vapor production, better than the carts by far.
If I make a juice that is too strong or just plain horrible I don't have any down time waiting for an atty to dry after a cleaning and I don't have a cart I need to restuff.
If I flood/destroy an atty.... who cares? It's a backup I'm just using as a testing platform.
Cons:
Still a blu.
If you find yourself either waiting for your replacement to the blu to show up, need a quick backup for your main piece or just want a tester e-cig for your juice experiments and have a blu collecting dust give it a go. Happy vaping!
