First off, I am new here so hello to everyone.

I have been using the Blu cigs for about a month now. I have the same complaints as everyone else about the how hard the draw/suck is, but i like the flavors of Blu better than anything else I have tried. I couldn't live with Blu as is, so I started messing with the cartridges. My thought was it is not the exit hole that is to small, but the intake holes that were a problem. I enlarged one intake hole with a drill bit to the same diameter as the exit hole. The result was huge difference. I get 2x the hit as I was getting before. I will try this a couple more of the cartridges over the next week and update you what the happens with the life span of the cartridge. My thought is that at 2x the hit, I will get half the life.

Wow Eric. You really made it big!

Now what can you do about the battery life? LOL

Hey, welcome to ECF. We're glad you're here.

Battery life. One thing I have noticed is that the battery pack charger does does not give a full charge on the cig. The blue light with turn off on the pack to signal that the cig is charged. If you plug the now charged cig into the USB charger the red light illuminates, signaling that there is not a full charge. My guess is that you get something like a 75% charge off of the battery pack. By using the USB direct to cig charge you will notice that the battery life does not "suck". Don't get me wrong it is still not great, but battery life is a little better.

Cowdog, yes I think I went a little too extreme on the hole size. Something about big is better got in head :p I am going to pick up a smaller drill bit tomorrow and try that.

I have to say the enlarging the intake hole did give more vape, almost too much. My biggest problem is the inconsistency of Blu's cartridges. The flavor is good on some, terrible on others. One whole 5 pack I purchased of tobacco was flavorless. The variance of how full the cartridges are is another problem. Some I can vape all day on one cart, others I get 1/4 of the day. The problem has forced me to order juice and I will start refilling the blu cartridges. Its really too bad,I love the flavor of blu. I get a minimum of one bad cartridge of the five pack.

"This is gonna push you into PV's..."

Looks that way........

The Blu premium kit i bought for $80 was the biggest waste of hard earned cash ever. Not only that, but i bought 5 packs of carts for it.
All of my blu stuff now sits in a drawer collecting dust since i graduated to my ego twists. I don't even want to give it away because it performs so poorly.

If you take long 5 second pulls off a Blu, you can get it to produce a decent amount of vapor, but there is zero throat hit. It will deliver nicotine to your body, but the sensation of smoking is not there.
once you try a real pv, you won't even look back. It sucks because i really wanted the Blu to work. The PCC is beautiful and the whole system is really well made. It just doesn't preform. Not even to cig a like standards.

Oh boy. Blu. I love them for getting me off the analogs, the disposables are AHHHWESOME, but the kits, naaah. I found the shorts did better than the 100's. You cannot stockpile on carts. They dry out over time. The batteries do not have a very good lifespan. I found I had to order new batteries every 2 months. Ended up taking the plunge and got a Joyetech eRoll for my cig alike. A very simple tank system. Parts are cheap. New batteries are $8-10 a piece. I fell in love with the Nova tank system. Better than the tank/cartomizer system IMHO.

Blus are on a 510 threading aren't they? So just screw the carto on. :) Most other of these types like V2 are on 808 threading, so they would require an adapter to the 510 standard, http://shop.nhaler.com/Adapters-adapter.htm?productId=112 but not Blu.

As far as Blu carto flavors, for those who really love the taste but want a real PV, go Johnson's Creek. After all, Johnson's Creek makes Blu's flavors. There are a few exclusive to Blu however.

Ok so my husband bought a blu disposable. it was great. but I'm not spending 80$ on their stupid kit.
I have ego batteries. I thought hey maybe blu prefilled carts would work on my batteries.
So we bought some vanilla ones and tried it. Nope they taste gross and burnt.
Will they work with 510 batteries?

prefilled blu cartos do have a 510 connection. They meter out at 3 ohms but they hit more like 1 ohm. The ego runs at 3.4 volts, I've found I can get these to work on mods that run low like the lavatube can do 3v. 3v is tollerable with these but still a little to hot. I bought a 5 pack and they seem to only fill the carto with juice half way. One of the cartos was dead dry as well.

Nice 'mod'/hack, but if that had been a good idea they would have tried it before you did. Like a carburetor, messing with an intake means major difference all the way down the line. They want to keep a hold on the market, customer satisfaction being a pretty high priority. I don't mean to be offensive, I wasted over $200 on Smoke Stiks before I tried something a bit more user friendly. Maybe try a Boge Expert 510 battery? Kits with 2 batteries, charger, case, 5 empty carts and a drip tip can be as low as $25 with shipping. About the same size. Google that yourself. Should have a bit more 'oomph'. If not, it's a still portable and could be a gradual move towards a bigger Ego battery and tons more options. You could run through the cartos you have, use the blank Boge 3ohm cartos from a kit or get them separately, fill them with Johnson's Creek. You may wonder how Blu can outsell such a cheap setup, apart from the "Smart Pack", which seems to be giving you problems already. Marketing can be amazing, sometimes. I might have advised a small KR808, but you mentioned using up your Blu 510 cartos, and staying with the 510 threading has major advantages. BTW, don't buy a large 510 battery, just go straight to Ego, the cartos still fit. Congrats and good luck on your vaping endeavors.
