Hello, I'm new here. I just got a Blu started kit this morning, and found out quickly that classic tobacco and the vanilla flavor are the only ones that provide any sort of satisfying hit. I have smoked 2 packs a day for several years, and started smoking when I was 12 years old. Already I can tell that e-cigs are absolutely wonderful, even with the limitations of Blu. I've ordered some juice from myfreedomsmokes.com already.

I've read through some other threads on Blu and am hoping to try and get a condensed list of compatible atomizers and blank cartridges for use with the L88bs, or Blu model e cigarette. I don't think I can afford to get an entirely new e-cig yet!

Having only gone to myfreedomsmokes.com I didn't quite see what I was looking for in terms of atomizers and cartridges, but I'm probably just confused.

If I purchase 510 Atomizers I will have to get compatible cartridges for the Atomizer I'm assuming?

Also I read about the Joye 306 Atomizer, and am wondering about cartridges for those.

Finally the Volcano Atomizer, and those cartridges?

Also, I'm wondering if you can make your own cottony type of material to hold the liquids?

I think that sums up my confusion, and I hope this post is intelligible lol.

The 306 atty is superb. You will need to get 306 carts.
Electronic Cigarette Supplies & Electronic Cigarette Refills for Name-Brand Electronic Cigarettes! E-Cigs from LiteCigUSA
This is the blue foam that works.

A 510 has the same threads so you can use 510 attys and cartos but they look a little funny on the blu being that they are wider. Also you may want to consider a 510 PT (passthrough) you can use your blu attys on it as well.

Sweet! Thanks so much Bert. I was seriously considering the passthrough after watching MissNomad's videos. I think that would be great for use at home while I'm on the computer. Right now I think I'm going through one Blu battery every hour and a half, and that option seems to be the most economical right now. Thanks for the link as well!

After trying Blu for less than 24 hours I decided to go ahead and purchase the Joye Ego from LiteCigUSA. It was a great price, only 54$. I can honestly say that Blu is not for me, and I can't figure out how to cancel my order of two cartons of cartridges.

Also I was wondering if anyone could tell me if you can use the drip method with atomizers as opposed to cartomizers? I haven't done the math on cartomizers yet, but at a glance they seemed more expensive.

Good call on the eGo, and you got it for a pretty good price!

Do you mean direct dripping? For that, you will want to either pull the filler out of the cart, so you have an empty cap, or get a drip tip. You simply drip juice directly onto the atomizer, a couple drops at a time. A couple drops will give you 10 puffs or so.

The 306 is a superb atomizer for dripping, and they will work on your eGo. No adapter required. If you do get a 306 atomizer, don't bother with the carts. They only hold a couple drops anyway - you could get just as much vaping time by just dripping, so there's no point to using the carts.

The expense of cartomizers really depends on how much you maintain them. If you are careful not to let them get too dry, and want to go to the trouble to wash them after several refills, they can last for quite a while. But it does take some effort to keep them going. If you'd rather not do that, then cartomizers will probably be more expensive for you.

I will say that it can take upwards of 3 to 4 days to break in these smaller atomizers and start getting real enjoyment of it.

I can't tell you what to buy but this "buy an ego, buy an ego" mantra is tiresome. People aren't even giving what they have a proper shake and are ready to throw it out.

FWIW I still love my Blu. I like my 510 better, but the Blu is not a piece of .... like it is portrayed. It does take some effort to improve the performance but it's not all bad.

And when you get a new Atty in the mail - they are usually shipped with a oil covering - to preserve the electronics - so wash them out before you use them.

Thanks for the advice on cutting the foam myself. I can definitely see myself keeping the Blu for going out, but right now it is just not cutting it for me. I went through 7 cartridges and charged both of my batteries around 5 times each in less than one day. I love the PCC that came with it, and I'll keep it around. I think that there's more versatility in the ego with less moding hassle. It also seems easier to find accessories for. Every site I've looked at has competitively priced stuff for it. One of the most important things to me right now, just trying to get off analogues, is battery life.

I can get maybe 5 good puffs off of the Blu and then it leaves me feeling antsy and frustrated, and I'd just rather have something that I can draw a little harder on if I feel like it, and that is also more consistent. I think for what it is, the Blu does fairly well, but I had to go back to analogues with what they said is equal to a carton of cigs in the starter kit.

I feel ya, man. He didn't even keep the blu for a full DAY before deciding he needed a different one. See, this is the impatience that was mentioned in another thread.

Well, mr. OP, I hope you like your Ego, but I wish you weren't so quick to count the blu as insufficient.

The Ego just isn't for me. Maybe I'd like it if I tried vaping it, but it looks obnoxious. It's like the size of a fat ... magic marker, and it looks more like something that would get me questioned by the police(or anybody else). That, and I doubt I could hold it between my fingers like a cigarette. a 510 is about as big as I want to go, at least for now.

I'm not one who needs it to look like a cigarette so much as I need it to feel like a cigarette in my hands and be almost as convenient to use. The 510 is more like a cigar/cigarillo, but it works. Blu works better for that, though. Also, being able to just hold it in my mouth without using my hands to support it is a factor too. The 510 is pushing it. The Ego would never work for that unless I clench it with my teeth.
