Blu kit doesn't hit like the disposable

Greetings from Indianapolis

I had been using the blu cig classic tobacco disposable units for a month. I was enjoying them. So much so that I purchased the original starter kit at my local drug store.

The problem I have is that the classic tobacco carts that came with the kit don't give me near the throat hit and taste that the disposables did. I am really disappointed with it.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you

I got a blu kit, which I liked for a few months. You've got to be sure your battery is fully charged and take slow drags. This should get you plenty of vapor. Problem is that the charger and the batteries started getting weaker / dying after about four months. I don't find the blu carts last very long, although some of the flavors are nice, especially peach shnapps.

Look at the eGo, Kgo, and E-power ecigs. They are larger than the Blu. If you like something more the size of a cigarette, then try The Volt. Most of the drug store and convenience store ecigs aren't going to give you what you are looking for. The e-juice in the two may be at different levels of nicotine or simply a flavor that doesn't provide much throat hit. here's a review of The Volt. It's something that is widely accepted here as a good way to start vaping for those who want their ecig to resemble the size of a cigarette and provide good performance.

Thank you for the quick responses. I will look into the volt.

I actually haven't smoked a cigarette in 5 months. I started getting cravings especially when enjoying some adult beverages on the deck. But instead of giving into analog cigs my wife suggested the ecig. It has been enjoyable. But I figured the blu kit would hit the same as the disposables.

My sister in law used the Blu, she had it for a week and gave it away. I bought a v2 kit which she said was better. I needed a better throat hit and a battery that lasted longer. As Davep said I found the Volt web page (smokeless image). It used the same cartomizers, and had a bigger battery (Volt x2) with a passthrough which I could hook up in my car. I also grabbed one of there clearomizers. The clearomzers give a way better throat hit than the regular cartomizers. Haven't used the regular ones since. If you do decide to go with the volt x2, you can get other caromizers that fit the echo 808 connection. There is also a 510 to 808 adaptor so you can use the ego stuff.

I started with a Blu kit, and wasn't too impressed. The battery life was incredibly short, I had difficulty screwing the batteries into the charger pack, and I didn't like the flavors much at all. I also tried a disposable before getting the kit and yes, there's a difference. The disposable was larger, produced more vapor and lasted quite a while. Still didn't really like the flavor too much.

I switched to the Volt, got empty cartomizers and juice from Vapedudes and I couldn't be happier. I was so impressed, that vaping has now become a hobby for me. Been doing it for 12 days and I've already spent $400 in kits, battery upgrades, cartomizers and juice. A sad part of these expenses was in figuring out what I liked and finding out what I didn't like. $110 of that was spent on Blu, which I should be getting at least $60 back from returning my starter kit.

I'd highly recommend getting one of the Volt starter kits and choosing a pack of sampler cartomizers (if the kit you buy allows you to choose which flavors you want). If you get two batteries (a good idea all around), you might want to choose one automatic and one manual to figure out which one you prefer. I personally like both for different reasons, manuals when I'm at home and automatics when driving.

If you end up not liking the Volt flavors, which incidentally are from the same juice makers as the Blu ones, you can buy blank cartomizers from the Smokeless Image website and get juice elsewhere. If you choose this route, be careful not to buy large bottles of juice until you've tried them out, and experiment with different vendors, PG/VG ratios, and nicotine levels. It may be a bit pricey in the beginning to figure out your personal preferences, but in the long run, it's totally worth it.

ETA: Don't be freaked out about how much I've spent. Again, a lot of that money was from mistakes like buying without checking reviews, getting liquid in too large of bottles, or generally spending too much on any one thing without knowing my preferences first. As long as you limit what you buy until you know for certain what you like, you should be able to get set up much cheaper than I did.

Smokeless Image and Vapedudes both have pretty good promotions, by the way. If you get a Volt and post a picture of you using it in their forums, you can choose either a free battery, a bottle of juice, or a pack of cartomizers shipped to you at no cost.

If you buy juice from Vapedudes, you can use the promotional code fbfree to get a free 10ml bottle of juice with your purchase. This has a limited number of uses per day however, so if it doesn't work you can try again the following day. Also, there's a one time per customer discount of 40% off your total purchase with the code vapedudes.
