Hello , just started vaping in an effort to quit smoking. I bout the "blu" e cig, the new version that uses cartomizers. I am happy with it but after awhile i get a burnt taste and the battery life is terrible. I was poking around and noticed the red dragon seems to produce alot more vapor and the battery seems better. Hear good things about the greensmoke too. I like the cartomizers and I would like to change the battery's and cartridges around on all 3. 2 questions then

A. Red dragon or Greensmoke ? (Based on vapor quantity and battery life )

B. Will the batterys and cartridges be interchangable with my blu ?

If you are interested in a new PV and lookign for help here, nearly everyone will recommend buying a kit from one of the vendors in the forum suppliers list at the top of the forum page, we know the PVs that they carry and to be on the suppliers list they have to be reputable and good to the people of ECF. You will not find many people that know much about blu greensmoke or red dragon here as they are all semi-proprietary, meaning that they don't tell you what kind of connection they use for their PV's and try to force you to keep coming back to them for supplies.

Hi,
Sorry, I could not reply to your questions as I do not know Blu or Red Dragon stuffs.

Only could give you my opinion about Greensmoke: it is very expensive, not enough battery life and not good flavors of Cartomizers. Please, do not spend your money with it. There are a lot of good supliers and you can find them here, in ECF.

I do not if I could give you some supliers names but try to look in Bloog or V4L forums.

Sorry for my English, I am Spanish and my English level is not good.

Hope, I help you.

Regards,
Marketa

Welcome to ECF blight!

The models you are asking about are known as "minis", they look like a regular cigarette but the battery like and cartomizer / cartridge life are very short. They are also not known for producing a lot of vapor,
(an important factor in why we're using them :) )

Check out the stickys on the top of the New Members forum, it explains a lot and in simple terms.
There's also some videos by one of our members that explains and shows what vaping is about here:

One bit of advice: stay away from Green Smoke! They're overpriced, second rate e-cigs and they will not be interchangeable with Blu. I speak from personal experience. The best thing I can say about Green Smoke is at least I didn't have any problems getting my money refunded.

If you want suggestions on which e-cig to buy, then here's my thoughts:

If you smoked a pack per day or more then you'll want either an eGo or a Riva kit. The battery life is going to last at least 6 hours per battery and two come in each starter kit.
If you smoked less than a pack per day then you'll probably want either a 510 or a KR808D-1 kit.

The smaller the battery, the less time it will last between charges. This is why the e-cigs that look like cigarettes don't last long.
More expensive doesn't always mean better quality, especially with starter kits. None of the kits I mentioned above will run you more than $50. Usually they cost less if you shop around and take advantage of discounts. Replacement parts for them are plentiful and CHEAP!

The blu, which is a fancy 306 (technically it's an l88b), is compatable with all 510 and 306 parts that are not listed as low resistance. Once in a blue moon, no pun intended, I'll put my 2.8ohm ce2's on the blu battery and it turns out OK.

This means that it will NOT be compatible with Greensmoke's craaaaaap. Don't buy it! From the looks of the photos on the red dragon site, they also use a female cartridge connector, so they are not compatible either.

Since you already have a blu I recommend that you use nothing but 510 stuff, which means 510 atomizers, 510 cartomizers, and maybe even eventually upgrading to a 510 mega battery or ego/riva. Damn near everyone makes 510 parts. They're cheap, easy to use, reliable (short battery life on anything shy of the mega 510, but still trustworthy), and worth it.

Just get over the it needs to look like a cigarette thing and buy a screwdriver mod.

Personally I recommend the Puresmoker Prodigy. You can get it in either 510 or 801 (hell for 25 bucks more you can have both) and it can be run at either 3.7 or 6v depending on the battery you decide on. The batteries are not proprietor and can generally be acquired at a good price through any battery wholesaler.

Sure it will cost you a bit more on the front end but you'll save in the long run.

Also be sure to have plenty of spare atomizers and batteries as well as good supply of juice on hand at any given time. The last thing you want is to burn out your last atomizer and be stuck vaporless for a week while you wait for a shipment.

Blu is in no way related. Not even the same gender battery.

Re E9 aka KR808D-2 - be smart and buy KR808D-1 which is the near twin and the one supported by the normal price marketplace. When new kinds of cartomizers are made like the Clearomizers etc, they are made available for KR808D-1. No new types of cartos are made for KR808D-2. Also, most people here use and recommend manual batteries because autos are prone to getting killed juice drips onto the end of the battery and autos can sometimes turn on accidentally from wind or vibration. KR808D-2 does not have manual batteries available, and KR808D-1 does and that is what most buy.

In addition, you can buy basic KR808D-1 manual kits at a number of multibrand hardware vendors like LiteCigUSA.net. And Vapor4Life.com has fancier kits and colors for a bit more as well as the largest selection of prefilled carts.

I'm so overwhelmed with all these numbers :( I like the feel of the "Auto's" I want something cheap and convenient and I want BUKU VAPOR ! I take it the red dragon ones are no good then ? D-2 is the style my "blu" batterys are i think. I dont like those button ones and I like the PCC's Too. Plus of course I dont want to look lame the stylier the better , I want it to resemble a real cigarette not a phalic shaped whistle. Any takers ?

The numbers are the model numbers, and refer to the thread size mostly. It's what tells
if a particular carto or atty will fit a battery. The most cigarette like, styling setup would
be the KR808- 1 types, and V4L is the most often recommended vendor for that type.

Regarding styling, check out Cosmetic Mods section for ideas in that dept. :)

Blight, I'm with you... i want it to look more like a cig too. I really don't know what is compatible with Blu, and I've seen a lot of complaints about them.

Dormouse gave you the best advice.... get a KR808D-1. You can buy the carts and batteries from a plethora of companies. It's like the Blu in that there are only the two pieces to deal with... very simple. Vapor4Life is a GREAT company and I hear that the Maxx Fusion from Bloog is great too. Keep your Blu for a back-up.

I also started with Blu. Now, I have 5 regular slim batteries, 1 XL and a Totally Wicked Tornado eGo type set up with 2 batts. All are 510s so I can switch everything back and forth. Also, all are manuals. I like to carry the slim batts in my pocket. The Tornado stays on my desk.
I use cartos with the slim batts and and atty carts on the Tornado. Once in a while I put a carto on the Tornado when I'm too lazy to top off a cart.
I ended up giving the Blu kit to my son in law.
You will hear a ton of negatives about the Blu, most are true. Regardless, they got me and many others started on e-cigs.
