blu vs volcano

I ordered a blu before knowing anything about e-cigs. Googled e-cigs and blu was the first with a lot of positive reviews, and I found out their disposables are sold at walgreens. I liked the flavor and such of the disp., so I ordered the starter kit. after a few days of charging one battery, while using the other and the one in use running out a few minutes before the other was done charging, I did more research. I found a few places that said that the volcano was basically the same thing. I really liked that idea since I already had tons of cartomizers for the blu, and all of the volcano batteries have the same threads. I ended up ordering a Volcano Magma. Battery lasts quite a bit longer, and all carto's are compatible.

Stop Googling ecigs. You know what shows up with a lot of positive reviews on the Web? BS ecigs, ripoff rebranders, fake review sites. The whole seedy upper crust of ecig sellers are great at MARKETING. They know how to put their product mentions all of the web, how to come up first in Google searches by having lots of metatags and referring links.

Blu is a weak ecig - it excels at looking good.

Volcano - don't know which you are talking about. Volanoecigs Magma manuals are fine as a short-charge starter ecig - double the charge of Blu - it's a rebanded Joye 510 probably. They sell the nice PCC there. I only recommend manuals. Harder to damage or kill with juice leaks, easier to get a good hit. Volcano Inferno is fine - a rebranded Joye Ego. Anything else at Volcano - no - because they have some small mystery thing.

Had my fill of blu "as-is" Now I want to use one as a spare in case the Magma batteries both go dead while out and about, but I will need to reverse the polarity for this. I want to modify the other as a usb pass-thru for when I am sitting at the computer.

Blu is electrically incompatible with Magma/510 (reverse electrical polarity). A Blu charger will fry a 510 battery and vice versa.

As a back up for Magma I suggest manual real Joye 510 batteries (to avoid one clone that is also reverse polarity), Joye 510 mega xl manual batteries, or nicer - a Riva 510 kit from Liberty-Flights.com (the kits there are 3.7v and will vape all of your Magma cartos warmer w/ more vapor). Note - never charge a slim 510 in a fat 510 model's charger - label the fat model's charger - it is higher mA and will damage slim 510 batteries. And the atomizers that come with Riva are too LR for slim 510.

I am completely aware of the electrical incompatibility of the two brands. What I want to know is how to change one of the blu's to the standard center positive so that it is compatible. I would also like to know how to change one of the blu's to a usb pass-thru. So if you would like to be helpful, point me in those directions instead of telling me what I already know, and what I have already told you.

Not sure there is a way without destroying the battery. the connector, battery cell, manual switch(if applicable), and led on those things are packed in there and glued. the idea of a pass through may be a better chance of success. you might find a youtube vid that might show you how to mod it.

Between the two brands, I liked Volcano tons more. They have a largely superior selection. I still use their liquid, and it gets delivered faster than anywhere else I have tried so far. I decided not to get their ego style battery when I made the switch to that, because I didn't like all the fancy styling of theirs. I decided to get a plain matte black battery instead. I also opted for another DCT for the same reason. I am not a billboard, and I don't like to use things that are designed as advertising. I don't even buy clothes if it is obvious what brand they happen to be. I had bad luck with the automatic batteries in general regardless of brand. I also prefer not to charge batteries all day long. That's all I felt like I was ever doing with the 510 and smaller batteries... take few puffs, switch batteries, take few puffs, switch batteries... just isn't for me. I would like if my DCT's would hold more, but I don't want them to be any bigger either... I have the 3.5ml size and it is roughly the same diameter as the ego batteries I use it with, I don't think I would like the larger diameter tank... but it sucks having to carry liquid to fill one back up. Maybe I should just get another tank or two, then I can just carry the extra tanks instead.
