So I haven't tried any other ones, but I've been using the my blucig for over two weeks now. I haven't touched an analog since and I've zero problems with the blucig. The battery doesn't last as long as I'd like, I'd say on fairly regular use during the work day, I have to recharge at least once, but since the charger pack carries an extra battery, that problem is basically pointless. It takes about 15secs to replace the battery and start charging the dead one.

On the flavor / taste / vapor. There are a variety of flavors, of which, my favorites are the Vivid Vanilla, Cherry Crush, and Classic tobacco. The others are decent and def. smokable. Although, I really don't like the Java Jolt flavor. The starter kit comes with 50 cartridges, I still have more than 35 left and I use the blucig pretty regularly. The taste is very good, it has a bit of a kick (I'm using the full-flavor cartridges right now). The amount of vapor is perfect, I can french inhale with ease. The vapor obviously starts to go down in amount as the cartridge gets empty. Keep in mind, when smoking inside, you can see the vapor much better, when outside it's harder too see during the daylight and in the wind you may not be able to french inhale as well.

On the cartridges, I read people writing about the foil and how it's hard to open... now the thing is, you don't need to mess with that at all. All you do is screw in the atomizer to the battery, then pop the cartridge onto the atomizer. The atomizer breaks the seal itself and your ready to smoke. When you change the cartridge you may need to remove a tiny bit of foil from the end of the atomizer. That's it. I have no idea what some of the other people are talking about when they say "opening the cartridge is hard" or "breaking the foil is hard". If your doing that, your not using it properly. You should never break the foil yourself. As per my knowledge you can not refill these cartridges but simply keep using new ones. The cost on average works out to like $1.15 for the equivalent of a pack of analogs (depending on how much analogs cost where you live obviously). If your paying about $5 a pack for analogs, these work out to about a $1.15 for a pack.

Anyway, all-in-all, the blucig is great, so far it's gotten me off analog smoking. It's damn sexy looking and it works like a charm (also a very effective conversation starter in bars/pool halls). I've ordered a backup atomizer just in case this one doesn't last forever, and I've ordered 50 more cartridges in the lower nicotine strength to start my quest of getting to zero nicotine.

Hope this post helps, feel free to ask me any questions about the blu and if I know the answer I'll shoot you back a reply.

Later all

Good thing you already ordered cartridges, they placed this on their website the other day:

Due to the incredibly overwhelming demand for blu and our pursuit of a great customer service experience, blu will not be taking orders from the 7th to the 21st of July. We are pausing orders in an attempt to clear our backlog and take care of our current customers.

During this time period, orders will continue to be shipped out and staff will be working as usual at blu in Administration and Customer Care; however, we simply will not be taking new orders. We sincerely apologize to our customers for the shortcomings in our current system. We understand your frustration with regards to our shipping delays. We feel this is the best way to alleviate the back order issue and make sure those who have chosen to buy from blu are getting the service and product that they expect from us.

Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience.

I see no reason why you can't refill the carts, just take the foil off. And the $1.15 per cartridge seems a little high if you really think about it, and there is no way that 1 cartridge is equivalent to one pack of smokes.

At least they put something up on their site or did something to try to get rid of the backlog, but this should have been done a long time ago. I first ordered BLU but was sick of their crap customer support and poor communication. They do great marketing but in any business the marketing will only initiate a sale; it requires a fully functional company to retain sales and create repeat customers. Look around at the posts regarding BLU, doesn't seem like many repeat customers, and if you really look at the posts it seems like crap marketing with posters with very little # of posts pointing out how great BLU is.

Like you said, you haven't tried any other e-cigs yet. I would recommend you do and I believe your view on BLU will change immediately.

the thing i noticed when pulling off the foil on the blu carts is that there is also a plasticy film layer under that is a total pain of get off. also the plastic film gets stuck on the atomizer and makes it taste just freaking awful. are there any carts out there that have better capacity that actually fit the blu? thought i read somewhere that the evo carts fit the blu. can anyone confirm if those carts fit the blu?

Actually I have been smoking the blu e-cig for about 6 mos. normally, I dont join forums or join in on blogging, but I noticed when I came here, that there was a user titled "dont buy blu" or something like that... I decided I would join bc I believe this site is for the experimentation of different e-cig brands am I correct? So how can someone sign up with a name that is predisposed to a bias? hmmmm...sounds like sabotage to me. Ok. So in all honesty, I really like my blu e-cigs. I have tried the smoking everywhere brand, and I couldnt stand the taste. I has any oily resin that comes out of the top of every brand new cartridge..yuck. But I enjoy my blu e-cig. I havent had the desire to try anything else. Seriously. Tastes great. I'm faithful to a menthol flavored cig. I doesn't have the "artificial taste" that the other one had. Its genuine..smooth. I noticed it has more of a gel type substance in the cartridge that produces vapors compared to "smoking everywhere brand". Blu really is a cool looking good tasting quality cig. I really like it~and its half the price of all the other ones! the only thing that could possibly be said about blu is their shipping takes a little while. they ship usps. thats all. they dont have fedex or expedited shipping options. so what. its worth the wait.

If you don't feel like waiting a few weeks, you could try these guys www.volcanoecigs.com. He ships within 24hrs and generally has everything in stock. On a few occasions he was sold out of things i wanted but he restocked them in less than a week. They are the exact same make and model with the exception of the logo and the LED color (orange instead of BLUe).

The carts are the same flavors as Blu, filled by the same people that make Blu carts.

I don't want to make it sound like I'm bashing Blu, I'm just to impatient to wait 1-2 or 4-6 weeks to get the things I want.

Oh, in reference to the post about not being able to refill the carts...it's possible. I've been doing it for weeks now. Just look it up on youtube and watch the vids on how to.

I know this is kind of an old thread, but I thought I'd add in my $.02. I've been using an e-cig that's identical to a Blu, but it's not a Blu or a Volcano. It's an L88b model, which is what Blu sells. I didn't go with Blu because I dislike the blue LED. I can't speak to Blu's customer service or shipping with regard to their kits. I did order a carton of cartridges from Blu to supplement the ones that came with my e-cig, and the shipping was quick. I got the carts within a few days. So on that end, I was pleased.

Basically, as far as an e-cig goes, I really like the L88b. I love the "traditional" cigarette look and feel, I like the PCC, and I like the vapor it produces. But I have to admit, the vapor production is not consistent. Sometimes it's downright billowing, other times just a weak wisp. Usually the latter is because the cart's running dry. Dripping is better.

The Blu carts kind of suck, IMHO. They only give good vapor and throat hit for the first few drags, then they need to be topped off. Flavor is weak, but then again, I just bought a sample pack of a bunch of different flavor e-liquids, and they all pretty much taste the same to me. Weak, with only a hint of some flavors as an aftertaste. I don't know if that's the e-cig's fault, or if that's just the way it is with flavored e-juice.

One thing I do know is that the L88b is more consistent and more like a real cigarette than my wife's RN4081. The 4081 is a good vapor producer, with a longer lasting cart and battery, but it has no flavor and almost no throat hit.

Lots of people like the 510 with the manual battery, which I'd love to try, but now my money's all tied up in the L88b. Until I burn out all my attys and carts, and until my batteries stop charging, I'm gonna stick with this model.

So if anyone wants to try Blu, and risk the long wait for shipping, I think it's a decent e-cig and I think most people will be pretty much satisfied with it. I guess the most important thing is that e-cigs are not exactly like analogs, and they never will be. They are a suitable alternative and, we hope, a more healthy option.

And from my limited experience, a Blu-type L88b is as good a choice as any.

I started on Blu and I felt they work alright. The carts can be refilled, but can only hold about 6 drops of liquid. Dripping is the way to go, but it can fry the auto bats quickly if you're not very careful. I switched to a Chuck with 510 atty and it works much better, but I am in no way displeased with my Blus. I still keep them as a backup and their attys fit the 510 tip on my Chuck, so if I run short on 510 attys or want a smaller unit for smoking at the bar, etc. they are interchangeable..

You really can't beat their price on attys either, 2 for about $10, and you don't have to buy in bulk or have them shipped from China and deal with customs. Free shipping is a bonus too. I've only had one of their attys die and it took about 1.5 months to do so.

Overall, I don't really have a problem with their product, I just prefer having the 2 day+ battery life of the Chuck.

I know this post is old but i really don't know where else to put it as i'm a newbie and did look, so i guess i will put it here.

To the customers who have used the usb charger... does you battery charger ever STAY completely blue once it is charged... because mine rarely do. Even if I leave it all night in the USB charger, screwed iin tight all the way, it still flashes between red and blue!

It never stays blue all the way!! Has this happened to anyone else??
