Blueberry flavor will not leave my atty

Hey everyone, I'm still pretty new to vaping. I am not using it to quit smoking, I used snus for that, so essentially I am using it to quit snusing. Anyhow, that's an aside for another thread I suppose.

I got a joye ego starter kit (2 batts, 2 attys, one LR and one standard) about a week ago and so far have been loving it. I got a new shipment of eliquid today, consisting of blueberry, ry4 and tiramisu. I had been having some problems with my LR atty sometimes tasting like death and leaving a lingering smell that is equally as nasty, it also scorches my tastebuds and makes enjoying vaping much harder for about 30 mins after. So today before my liquid got here, I cleaned both of my attys out thoroughly. Initially this made the LR atty start tasting like crap (and my apartment still smells like it), but I tried the blueberry flavor first. Now I cannot get the blue berry flavor to leave. I don't want to clean it again right away because I really don't want to screw with that nasty smell/taste anymore today.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Is the only solution cleaning and dealing with the grossness after? I am priming after I clean, but its still bad and as I said above, it scorches my tastebuds. (I still can't really taste the ry4 at all, which sucks because I've heard it's amazing).

Have you tried blowing them out? You can also blow the atty out, drip some new juice, take a puff or two, and blow it out again. I use straight PG for this every night as routine maintanance and it helps keep them from gunking up. After blowing them out (from the battery connector end), tapping lightly into the paper towel helps get the juice out. You can also insert a rolled up end to clean the juice from the insides of the atty, but avoid geting close to the bridge.

I have the same problem with Cinna Bomb. :(
I don't have PG juices on hand, but 91% iso isn't working either. There's still old taste left from vaping it a week ago.

Some flavors are more persistent for me as well, cinnamon being one of them. If iso alcohol won't get it out, PG sure won't. I know some people dedicate an atty/carto to flavors like cinnamon, clove, mint, etc., but I usually just vape through it. I usually pick a complimentary flavor it make it less objectionable.

Yeah, I learned the hard way recently that super strong flavors like cinnamon just don't clean out very well from a carto. Imagine my cleaning being "done" and I wait a few days for the carto to dry out, and fill it with a coffee flavor.... Whoa boy! It would have been nice if it wasn't a terrible cinnamon flavor to begin with! I am surprised that you can't clean out an atty from a strong flavor however. And blueberry doesn't seem like it should be strong enough to cause such an issue. hopefully more people who use atty's will be able to help you out.

I just had that happen last night with Wyatt Earp. Don't get me wrong, the taste of the juice is wonderful. I just don't happen to fully appreciate the anise taste. I knew it wasn't going to just go away on its own, so I had to give my atty a 5 min isopropyl bath. I let it dry over my vent overnight and hooked it up this morning . . . good as new.

I use h2o2 (hydrogen peroxide) to clean my 510 attys. I just put the rubber end on the battery end, pour a few drops in and leave it standing for about an hour, then blow it out and repeat. Then I do four or five "burns" on it. (Hold the button for about six seconds, let off three or four, repeat. h2o2 turns to water when heated.) The I put in about three drops of VG, blow it out and repeat. Works for me so far. JD

pour coca cola through it, let it soak it in the coke for about 30-45 minute, rinse it out with really hot water, dry it off and blow it out thoroughly, then let it burn off the residue from the coil like JD1 said

worked fantastically with my Baby Back Rib juice from FSUSA -- the strongest lingering juice I've had yet

if that doesn't work, do the same thing, but soak it in the coke overnight first
