Guess I'm lucky, but been using the 3.0 ohm Boge cartomizers(vaping at 5.0 volts) for months now with NO burnt taste nor any DOA's from LF.....
Abe asked the first question...are you letting them sit for 20 minutes or so after filling?
I'll ask the second because I love Boge cartos and never experience burnt tastes with them.
What voltage are you using? If you're using 3.7V, you can use any of the resistances. For 5V or above, you need 3 ohm or you'll encounter the horrid burning taste.

I got two. Vaped fine for a few hits, then OMG!!!!!

Same here. I use the 3.0 ohm Boge cartos on my V2 Maxi RS and Saber Touch. No bad experiences, ever.
There are loads of steel ones, the ones we ordered were actually suppose to be black but I left the colour off, doh. I have ordered black ones now though
