Bought some boge cartos and a tank from vapeescape - filled the cart and slipped it into the tank - filled the tank above the hole on the cart. Fitted together expected a drop or two when I did this but the thing just seems to leak - loads.

I took a few puffs and it just bubbles - really s*** but maybe I'm doing something basic and wrong?

Might give vapeescape a call to see if I can return them as pretty disappointed.

Any suggestions?

can you post links to the items you bought .. ?? It sounds like the carto is not fitting the tank very well .. or the O-rings are not sealing ..

I am currently using a setup that is exactly the same as that .. no leakage ..

When you push in the carto, does it seem firm when being pushed .. ??

Did you seal the inner O-rings on the tank by putting a thin layer of liquid on them prior to inserting the carto .. ??

As well, the end of the tank that accepts the drip tip should be fairly flush to the end of the tank ..

Little guide i wrote for someone yesterday:

For carto's i always used: Boge Pre-Punched Cartomisers (5) £6.99 - Vaping Spares - Cartomisers Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

Non punched carto’s i would use these in silver: Boge 510 Standard Resistance (5) £5.99 - Vaping Spares - Cartomisers Electronic Cigarettes | Vaping Devices | Accessories | E-Liquid

I would punch them 1 x 2mm hole (No bigger and No smaller), a 2mm hole should accommodate most thickness of juices.

Once the carto is punched i would fill them using the condom method and leave to rest for 20-30 mins, once rested make sure there is no flooding, good idea is to vape the carto for a couple of seconds on it's own to make sure all is fine.

1: This applies to tanks with a filling hole at the top: If the carto is fine and good to go fit it into the tank and screw tank lid on (only fill tank with the hole provided on top of the cap).

2: This applies to tanks without a filling hole at the top: If the carto is fine and good to go fit it into the tank too about 70% in so there is just enough room at the top too fill the juice into tank (Recommend to use a needle cap filler or syringe).

Fill tank too around 60-70%, i prefer 60%, i tend to find the more you fill it the more chance of flooding (think it is to do with pressure).

Leave to rest in the tank for awhile to let the carto adjust to it and then try it out.

You can also before starting to use it is do the dry vaping, by blocking the bottom of the carto hole (when it's in the tank) vape until you see no more bubbles come out of the punched hole, like this video here:

How to prime and fill a DCT (dual coil Cartomizer tank) - YouTube

Another video on tanks here:

Maximizing Your Cartomizer Tank Vaping Experience! - YouTube

The other reason i fill to around 60% is because IF it does feel like it is flooding you can tilt the tank and vape only the juice from the carto which will empty the extra juice in the carto, if the tank was 100% full you could not do this because there is no empty room left so it will just keep pulling in more juice from the tank.

Gotta just remember that the Carto is like a submarine in water and all that juice is wanting to get in, so when vaping with a tank it's best not to fast vape continuously as you will be pulling in loads of juice too much and too often.

Hope some of this helps.

The cartomizers you linked seem to have an unusually large hole, 2.3mm. That may be good for thicker liquids, but if your liquids are not mostly VG it could be allowing to much liquid to flow in. Most pre-punched cartos have one or two holes of approximately 1mm. If you have a thicker liquid available that may help in the short run, but it may be worthwhile to get regular Boge cartos and a punch tool co you can control the flow.

Fiddling with clearos doesn't seem so bad after dealing with tank issues. Good luck!

Last week saw my bank account plunge again when i bought a tank to go with the boge carts i had been using. When i first got the carts i had to learn how to fill them and then when the tank arrived there was another learning process. Got into abit of leakage etc through user error but in the end all is well and i now love the tank/cart combo.

wrenny, stick with it as you will succeed and most probably grow to love them. I found the new PBusardo video very helpful.

Thanks just subscribed on youtube :) given this another go. Filled the boge carto with a syringe and then the tank - blew out a little fluid before inserting into the tank.

Verdict = still not good fingers are greasy with fluid no immediate leaking but is messier. Vape flavour not very good for me - vape production quite good. Can't see myself persevering to be honest - prefer the clearos no mess better taste - at least for a tank or two/ three.

Will go back to "normal" for me at least.

I often hear about leaking caro-tanks but have NEVER had one. I've used everything from £45 glass tanks to 50p chinese ones.

I only use Boge cartos and will throw away the cheap chinese ones supplied with the tank (even these have never leaked, they just taste awful).
I always use 50/50 or higher VG juices.
I always use non-punched cartos and cut a 5mm slot in them with a junior hacksaw.
I dont use flanged cartos and always insert thread end first with a drop of e-juice applied to the o-ring.
Maybe i've been lucky or perhaps it's the high VG juice that's the key.
