General rule/steps for new cartomizers (for me).

Fully saturate/prime the cartomizer before initial use.
Break in the cartomizer using a low voltage prior to setting at desired voltage.
1.6ohm = 3.6v safe/best voltage. Start at 3.2v for a few minutes (10minutes for me) then gradually increase to desired voltage.

I've found these steps to prolong the life of a cartomizer, but you may have a few bad ones that can never be saved.

Yeah we haven't started at anything but 3.2v. We tried out another two cartos today cleaning them thoroughly and soaking them extreamly well, still the same bursnt taste. Now have gone through a total of 10 of these boge 1.6 ohm cartos, we have 2 left but I don't think we are going to bother wasting more time and juice...

I'm waiting to hear back from Canvape.com to see if they'll help us out before we order anything new, may try another company even though there are many positive reviews about them. Most likely going to grab some 45mm smoktek cartos and try out some kanger MT3's, If anyone has these let me know about them I'd appreciate it :)!

I just got a boge f16 tank and matching cartos as my fist tank setup recently. There was one that was a bit off but I tossed it and that was that, the others have been good.

As for a small tip in case you're not already doing this, vape the carto for a few minutes before putting it in to the tank and filling it, that way if its bad you're only wasting under 1mm of juice and not 5.

You may want to try Ikenvape Cartos, I've had great luck with them. https://www.ikenvape.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=1631. The only problem is that they've been out of stock lately.

Shipping from the US to Canada is a tad harsh most of the time, which i wish it wasn't cause there's a few things only from US vendors I'd like to try like these cartos. Vapor alley wanted 23.50$ to ship a few small things , maybe not their fault entirely but still.

With the latest price increase by USPS, $23.50 for a small priority box is really not excessive going to Canada .. unfortunately ..

They were fully saturated. We filled it from the top of carto and constantly added more juice every couple minutes until the juice started leaking out the two little holes on the side (it came out the bottom screw end before hand). We then let the carto sit inside a tank with juice for over 30 minutes to make sure it was fully saturated. Still no luck, the burnt taste was still there. These cartos were the ones we also soaked in vodka for well over and hour before use.

What I do with cartos then if they have a very slow saturation time is ..

1) Insert round toothpick in threaded end
2) Stick toothpick with carto into a block of styrofoam
3) Drip periodically into the carto until at least 30 drops have been absorbed
4) Let sit for several hours, if not overnight
5) Drip a few more drops and see if it pools at the top or continues to soak it
6) Prime by dripping three drops into the threaded end
7) Blow out excess

I know it's a hassle and it's time consuming, but since most vendors I know of don't guarantee a carto, this method has never failed me ..

I tried the "condom method" with one, you use the plastic covers that come with the cartos. Fill them 3/4 full of juice and and push them over the bottom, or screw end of the carto. This takes a little work to get them around the little ridge but it will work to cover all the bottom holes including the ones that lead to the tank. The juice will pool up in the carto but absorbs quickly, so I did it again. The third time it didn't absorb much of the juice so I left it to sit for about 4-5 hours. Even then there was still some pooled, so I emptied what was remaining into the tank and quickly got the carto in there. to try it out Despite that the carto still gave off a burnt taste unfortunately so I know they were just duds. But I really recommend this method, it works well for getting cartos 100% saturated.

I agree, an extra 23.50$ is a bit much... I ended up ordering from Vapor Geeks which is located in BC, I'm thinking surrey since that's where the first shipment came from. Now I'm just waiting for my Kanger evods and a few spare smoktek cartos for the Boge f16s(kinda done with boge cartos for a bit haha)

I've bought stuff from her a few times. I love that at least with the larger orders they come wrapped in gift paper and with a big lollipop too.
