Boge vs Kanger

I was curious if this was just my imagination or what...

vaping on a Boge 3.0 ohm carto, between 5.0v (8.33w) & 5.5v (10.08w) gets me good flavor.
vaping on a Kanger 2.7 ohm carto at 4.7w (8.18w) it gives a burnt taste, but if i crank it down to 4.2v (6.53w) it seems to vape normally.

Is this because of the nature of the horizontal coil? dont get me wrong, i dont mind, it draws less power, im just wondering if maybe im crazy lol

I think it must be the nature of the horizontal coil. I have experience they same exact thing. Also, do the kangers get really hot for you? Mine get rip roaring hot especially without a drip tip on.

i use a tip so maybe they are getting hot and im not noticing, they dont feel any hotter to the touch than im used to, but then i havent really paid much attention before.

I find that both brands of the horizontal coil cartos that I have tried, kanger being one of them, that they do get very warm a lot more so than boges. I don't have a vv mod, just my silver bullet at 3.7, so my guess would be that yes, cranking down your volts with a kanger makes sense.

I love my Kangers but I don't use them in tanks. Have one on a Helix and a long one in a Gripper. Both of them have been in their respective PV's for a few months now and are still going strong. I sometimes cover part of the one on the Helix with a drip shield to break up all that polished silver glare. I do not notice them getting hot, but then they are not on a VV device.

Being that the Kanger has a horizontal coil. The e liquid takes longer to wick.

I've used Ikenvape horizontals at 3.0ohm and had the same scorching problems.

My belief is that the horizontal cartos were a bad idea, for consumers that like lots of vapor.
