Bolly mod
(Originally Posted in Canadian Forum, posting here as well for interest sake...)

Hey, just wanted to share a couple pics of a mod (mechanical) I just completed this evening... its made from a Bolly LED flashlight, hence the name. I built this thing more for fun than for need, but I must admit I have been hitting the Jokesmoke on it pretty hard for the last hour or so ... strictly for testing purposes of course :). This particular flashlight caught my attention whilst surfing because of its unique shape with the flattened sides and the fact that it is a solid cast piece of aluminum. All the guts feed in thru the top and are held in place by a screw-in retaining ring ... that design to me looked like it would be easy to mod. Battery goes in the bottom with a nice switch on the end cap. The flat sides made the switch mount a little easier, gives it a good grip in the hand and this thing stays where you put it ... no rolling around. Its powered by a Trustfire protected 2400mah 18650 battery and has a 808D connection. There is not a drop of hot glue in this thing, the switch and 808D connection are threaded and held with retaining nuts.

Now thats a drip well ... and yes that is a Canadian Dime in there...

This wasn't particularly cheap to build because the flashlight itself wasn't that cheap, I actually bought 2, the one I kept as a flashlight is awesome as well. All in all I'd put the cost, not including the battery, at just under $30. I had fun frankensteining it together as well, so worth it to me. Cheers.

Update, just got a 5ml Atomic DC tank with chrome caps for the Bollymod and a Siam Mods straight barrel drip tip (AtomicVapors.com). The drip tip barrel is the same size as a 510/808d carto barrel so when assembled on a SS carto, it looks like a REALLY long carto. In this pic, the carto is actually just a standard length Kanger, but with the drip tip on it I can use it in the longer DC tank, the tip is actually extending inside the tank. Works great, easy to refill, and I can stick with standard cartos that I have boxes and boxes of...
