Apparently my Im very hard on my things. I finally convinced my wife to let me get a dna mod after 4 years of going through 2-3 Chinese cheapies a year, but it needs to be durable (shock proofing to survive falls, no low grade aluminum that gets gouged), ideally stainless steel, American made (so if problems arise I can call and talk to the guy who actually made it and generally have better warranties), ideally water resistant (my hands and clothes are always wet from work), and user serviceable battery. Thank you

A small vape pen from several years ago weighs so little that a fall to the floor will do it no harm. A silicone sleeve will help keep a mod in your hand and is some shock protection but doesn't do much for glass in the tanks everybody wants to use. The extra weight of stainless will just mean the mod strikes the ground harder. How about get a lanyard and string it around your neck? Or how about put the mod in one of those water backpacks and run a plastic hose to your mouth like runners do? Oh, then it would be hard to press the fire button so run the hose from your pocket? And the Chinese pretty much own mod manufacturing. I think they do a pretty good job.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
I only buy mods with DNA or YiHi chipsets and the ones i bought 3 years ago are still working like the day i bought them today, very pleased.

All aluminum outer housings which i have dropped way too many times to count , i have a concrete floor , no gouges ever happened just slight dings or a tiny indentation .

Mods i stay far away from are what most people seem to buy these days , Eleaf stuff, Smoke stuff etc... don't like any of it.

I don't care at all about bling , what color something is or if something matches , i demand reliability and toughness .

I really don't think there is a mod that fits what your requirements are to be honest , if you are going through mods 2 to 3 times a year than stop buying the cheap crap .

I'd recommend something in a stabilzed wood...they're pretty and pretty resilient, although the cost can be astronomical compared to similar in plastic or even aluminum. Actually, Vaporized Nomads makes DNA167/250 mods that are pretty tough, and a couple of their higher end Boss mods come with lifetime warranties (though running one over with a car may not be covered)

A non DNA/Yihi device that's pretty indestructible and has great TC: Tesla Nano 120 steampunk. It's stable and quite solidly built, and very inexpensive.
