You will have to let know what you think of it. The HBO series was really good so the book should be awesome!!!

I'm only 70 pages in and I am already enjoying it immensely! The character and plot development has got me on the edge of my seat, whilst reading. I can just tell that this is going to be an amazing series. The detail is fantastic, I love the world. To be honest, I was not expecting it to be what it is, thus far and I am, as I said, really excited!!! :D

My thanks for all who recommended this series! I would not of put it down if not for the fact that I seem to have real life interfering with my reading time

Just dropping in to say, WOW! What an amazing book so far!!!

I'm on and around page 5XX something or another, and it's just amazing. Seriously, I have been missing out. I often day dream in the car thinking of coming home and getting back into the book (after my son is in bed, of course). Just simply amazing!

More on this! Later. :D

I was in the same boat, man.

Seriously great book series.

However, like I said, the main drawback is that it'll be 10 years before we see the end of it, and probably 5 before we see book 6 (of 7) and 5 leaves off on some MAJOR cliff hangers.

I had finished Game of Thrones a couple of days ago, currently devouring Clash of Kings :D

Since I'm no where near the current ending of the series (what has been written), I don't think I am going to pace myself or slow down. They're just too damn good. I'm sure I'll be equally perturbed when I reach the 5th book and I'll have to go back on my search for another great series. Problem is, after reading Martin, my expectations are soaring. Martin and Kearney do write similar in the sense that anything goes in their novels, though, I believe Martin is much more extreme and does it a great deal better :)

This is seriously becoming my favorite series I've read to date. Just simply amazing.

Have any of you seen the HBO series, Game of Thrones?

Although I am on book 3 of the series, I started watching the tv show, and I've gotta say, it's pretty good! As far as book to television series go, I believe it does the book justice. I've just seen the first two episodes, but, if you have read (or haven't even), I would definitely recommend checking it out. :)

I know you said you only like real books, but here is a free intro to digital books.

First, get Adobe Digital Editions to read with on your computer.

Then try some of Baen's published books at The Fifth Imperium. You'll want the epub versions.

I'll admit, I have a projector in the living room, so I am reading from a 100" "screen". But, it is nice to read from the comfort of my recliner,
and the letters are certainly big enough I don't have to worry about straining my eyes. Not to mention, you can't beat "free" when you consider
how many books I go through. I have over 7 gigs of books I'll never read, and I am always updating with newer books.

Let me know if you want a specific book, I have a few other sites that are relatively safe to download from. ( no viruses or re-directs )
