Nuck's Fistpack tutorial is a useful resource as well as Breaktru's schematics.

With a 5-15volt range? do you just use a bigger resistor on it?

Not exactly. From Nuck's you can see the use of a diode and resistors on a slider, but the diode wastes energy. If you look at Breaktru's I believe you get a range from about 4.5 to 6v. I go the simpler route and only add a 62k resistor between pins 3 & 4 and enjoy 4.43v from start to finish.

edit: make that 3.5- >6v, I checked.
