(I found this buried in the Reo grand opening thread, but no one responded. I thought this was a better place for it, deserving of more exposure to users.)

It's "mainstream" news like this that we need to see more of - experts giving the praise vaping deserves.

I could have sworn that we did discuss this, but I looked for a thread and only found ones with zero or one response. I think the longest discussion is buried in the SE versus FDA thread.

You are absolutely right. This is an extremely important study, and I, for one, find it annoying that none of the major news organizations (mainstream media) have picked up on it. You can only read the abstract of the medical journal article, but it is worth looking at.

I just don't understand! I mean...I understand but it makes me so mad that more people don't understand this. Of COURSE the FDA and Big Tobacco are going to have an issue with the e-cig. This is the ONLY thing I have found that works for me! The minute I picked it up it just worked! Granted it has only been almost two weeks but if you would have told me 2 weeks ago that I would stop smoking instantly I would have called you a liar! This thing works! So of course they want to ban it and get it off the market so they can make moooooorrrrrrreeeeeeee money! It is so frustrating that the powers that be cannot see this! And I am even more angry that all these anti-smoking organizations are backing this crap! Don't they understand that this works?! Of course they do, but they don't care. They just want to keep making money. This really upsets me!

I agree it would have been nice to see more coverage of this (the front page of the NY Times would have been nice!). I found it in a few places:

Electronic cigarettes much safer than real cigarettes, says BUSPH researcher

Co-author Dr. Michael Siegel will be on Vapersplace Live this Sunday, Jan. 16th, at 9:00 pm, EST: VP-Live | VapersPlace

Can't wait to hear what he has to say! :)

My favorite line from the article:

"Why would the FDA and the anti-smoking groups want to take an action that is going to seriously harm the public's health? The only ones who would be protected by a ban on e-cigarettes are the tobacco companies, as these new products represent the first real threat to their profits in decades."

Follow the dancing dollar - it always leads home.
