I have a problem with the base of my Davide Mini Glassomizer, I hope someone with knowledge of Davide Glassomizer or Protank bases can help me with it.

I have a protank mini which I liked, but bought a Davide Mini Glassomizer a week ago, and have been using it exclusively since, becasue I preferred the change-able drip-tip and the stainless steal base.

It stopped working last night, no draw, and I assumed it was a bad coil head. I exchanged the head - still did not work.
I put the head from my protank mini in it - still did not work.
I put the Davide base with protank head on protank - and it did not work.
I put the protank base, davide head, on the davide and it worked!!

So, the problem is with the base of the davide - not the coil head - but the base is just a metal tube - and it has been working for a week, so what could have gone wrong with it that made it stop working, and how can I fix? I have washed the base and washed it - no help.

can you hear it sizzle when you hit the fire button?

If no, try to adjust it down, what rig are you running that on, volts, resistance, watts?

If its not sizzling it isn't firing, the coil is actually in the base, these types of BCC (Bottom Coil Clearomizers) feed from the bottom

Pull the drip tip, flip it upside down, unscrew the base, pull out the coil, rinse it 5x times in the hottest water you can stand and blow thru the tube to clean it out, put it back on the base, screw back in.

Puff puff puff on it when you get it all back together the water in the wick will boil off and pull the e-juice back in it, but you MUST puff puff puff on it or it could burn and taste nasty!!!

Are you saying no draw as opposed as not firing?

Take a pin and clear the holes in the 510 thread (they should be some small holes drilled into the 510 connections, that's where the draw comes from) sometimes they get gunked up.

You can test this by putting your finger over the bottom and seeing if you have draw. If you don't, or it really hard to draw, they are gunked or plugged. sometimes this can happen when putting in new coils.

There is no draw - and I can't hear any sounds of firing either.

The problem is the base (the piece circled in yellow below) - I replaced it with the gun metal base from my Protank mini - and it works great. Also I have put the Davide base on my protank with the coil head from the protank the protank stops firing.

I have cleaned the base with very hot water and hand sanitizer.

Having tried different combos between pieces from my Davide mini and Protank mini - I am sure it is the Davide base and only the base that is at fault, but since it worked fine for a week of continuous (always on the same Itaste vv, that I am vaping on now with the Davide with the base replaced with protank gunmetal base. I did not in any way misuse the Davide, and so I can't understand how the base could be causing a problem. The base is just a metal tube, it did not get hit or nicked or anything. One second the Davide was working and the next it wasn't. I thought it was the coil head - but the head is fine, it and all the other parts work as long as I replace the base piece (circled in yellow below) with the gunmetal base from my protank mini.

Good post - I had this problem once myself, and I also much prefer Davide over Protank (I have to have my own drip tips on my tanks!).

What kind of juice are you vaping? Some tend to clog more then others.

I found that taking everything apart and cleaning thoroughly solved the problem. You can run the parts under hot water and then dry them, or soak in vodka for a few hours, then rinse and dry. Hope this helps.

(PS - you might want to buy some cheap vodka for cleaning your vaping equipment (obv don't drink cheap vodka - life is too short to drink bad beer, wine or spirits.)

I'm no expert but is it possible the base is not connecting with the battery?

i have 6 mini davides as i prefer my own tips. the base of the davides seems a tad too big and thick. i had that problem with a few. the coil isn't touching the battery post. i checked some coils against some evod/protank ones and a few are a tad shorter, you could try switching the bottoms or just switching coils (but you get 3, so you may more of these than ptank ones)

i agree with this, just haven't bought any ptank minis cuz you can't change the ruddy tip...yet. but that base is just too durn thick. (i keep thinking, "couldn't you have made this part just a little...cheaper?")

That is about the only thing that makes since - BUT - it was on my pv when it stopped working - it was working fine one draw, and then the next draw it just stopped. It had worked fine for a week -

After soaking it in very hot water and vodka baths - I am just about ready to give up. I am using the Davide now with a Protank mini base, and if I can't find replacement bases anywhere, I noticed that Fasttech has Protank "clones" for $3.97, I might just buy one in order to use the base on my Davide. So far I prefer the mini Davide to the mini Protank, but I will wait until Protank 2 mini with replaceable drip tips is like before I decide to get another and perhaps have a repeat of this problem.

There is no such animal as a bad beer, bad wine or bad spirits.

To the OP: It sounds like there is no airflow in the Davide base, or there is a bad connection between the Davide head and the Davide base. You might try replacing the Davide head with a new one, and see if you can replicate the problem.

I had this problem with a Protank 2. If I tighten it all the way on a Provari mini I get no draw, I have to unscrew the whole head just a tad to get any draw at all.
This happened to me as well. When I changed out the coil unit, it went away. Weird... I think some of the coil units don't screw in all the way, or screw in too much?
