Bottom feeder mod and cartomizers?

I understand how bottom feeders work with an atomizer(I guess the feed tube is just wetting the underside of the screen instead of the top?), but I see that some people use cartomizers with them? How does this work?
In the past when I used a cartomizer I noticed that if the liquid got into the center tube it would flood and I would either get a mouthful of juice or it would leak. At best I would get a gurgling hard draw.

With a bottom feeder mod there is a tube that injects the juice into the center of the cart(inside the tube), Would the same problems occur?

I'm confused...or just really dumb. :) Can someone explain how it works.

You are correct but there are some things you can do to use cartos on a bottom feed. 1. let them sit after juicing to allow the batting material to absorb the juice. 2. use a large bore and preferably long drip tip to provide more room for juice to fall back into the carto instead of going into your mouth. 3. Draw slower, same reason as #2.

Hmm, ok. I'm assuming most prefer atomizers. Those suggestions seem to make for a weaker vaping experience.

But....what's the advantage of using a carto with a bottomfeeder?

I'm probably being daft- but I thought all the batting in a carto was just there to hold juice.

Since a bottom feeder has all the juice you need...why use a carto?

Best,
Ande

I started out as a carto user with a KR8 (Vapor4Life). I liked the cartos pretty well, but got tired of refilling them, and of course they'd always seem to run dry at the most inopportune time. Then I got a WetBox, which worked well with the KR8 cartos - I found that being able to keep the cartos wet extended their life quite a bit. And with the bottle, I always knew where I stood. Then I bought a REO Mini and tried the KR8 cartos on it with an adapter, but it didn't work as well as I'd hoped, so I switched to atty's for quite some time. 510 cartos have come a long way since then, so a couple months ago, I decided to give them a whirl, and found that I really like the dual-coil cartos. They have a much more consistent vape for me than atty's, last a long time, and work like a charm on the REO (even better than atty's, IMO, since the juice well on the REO is always dry with a carto unless you've flooded it horribly).

I love my LR Boge cartomizers and I am using one on my old goat mod. I'm sure that every mod/carto combo is different. I use a drip tip and when my carto is running dry I pull of the drip tip, squeeze the bottle, watch the juice come up the middle and fill the batting. Once the juice from the first squeeze starts to sink down into the batting, squeeze again and then wait again. It usually takes three squeezes. After you feel like you have wet the batting enough, place the drip tip back on, unscrew the cartomizer and give it a good blow or two through the drip tip and get the excess juice out of the center tube of the carto (otherwise you get gurgling and a mouth full of juice). Simply screw the carto back on and you are back in business.

Whether cartos are better than atties, it is impossible to say. Atties are most definitely less hassle and give you a different experience, but cartos, while they take a little more effort to fill, don't require you to squeeze every couple of hits. I use both cartos and atties equally because it just depends on my mood. Switching things up while vaping gives you a much more well rounded experience and keeps things interesting.
