Bottom Feeder question

I, uh, don't understand what a bottom feeder is. I assume it 'feeds' from the 'bottom' or something, but aside from that I really don't get it. Can someone point me in the direction of a good write-up or just explain what they are and how they work?

Bottom feeders contain a bottle of juice, when your atty or carto starts getting dry you lightly squeeze (squonk as its been called) the bottle to feed more juice to the atty or carto. They give you the flavor of dripping without having to carry a separate bottle.
