Tightened my new Kanger Protank II into my Tesla, and now the bottom is seized. Any ideas on how to unscrew it? Annoying because now I have to fill it by opening the bottom of the glass, which causes quite the messy fill and a waste of juice.
Sound like the center pin went up into the air hole on the bottom of the tank. You might pull the coil completely apart and use a small nail or drill bit to push the center pin down then unscrew the base.
The tank isn't seized to the Tesla, but bottom of the tank with the 501 threads is seized to the glass connector. So instead of just being able to unscrew the bottom to fill, I have to unscrew the entire glass connector and fill. Have to hold tight and hope to leak as little as possible.
I tried pliers, and was able to get a good grip on the bottom, however was weary about using pliers on the smooth part in fear of chewing it up. This prevents a good grip on the top. I suppose it may come to that though. I think what happened was I over tightened it into my Tesla, and it tightened the bottom up beyond normalcy.
Thank you for the suggestions. I'll give it a try and reply back to the thread, although it will probably not be tonight as I've just filled the tank. Don't want to risk losing anymore juice than I already have.
OH now I see said the visually impaired vaper. Fill the tank with hot water and then touch the 501 threaded end to an ice cube. The hot water will make the tank part expand and cold will make the threaded base contract. Hopefully you can get it apart. Then nebber-nebber do that again wabbit.
Haha thanks a bunch. I decided to sacrifice my liquid, and after some fiddling with pliers a bit I was able to loosen the base. I did use hot water, but didn't see your post in time to try the ice cube trick. Last time I over tighten that's for sure! Thanks everyone.
