I just bought a Blu. I like the way it looks, the pricing, and I have a friend who swears by it. But he hasn't done any mods to his.

I used all the pre-filled carts. They don't last as long as boasted, and the vapor is good for awhile, but diminishes quickly, and there's still liquid in the wool.

I did a PTB mod to the carts. I'm hoping I did it right. I took a PTB and tore it into a rectangle... then I tore that down the middle so I had two squares. I took the little place cart out of the the mouthpiece, folded up the PTB into a little square, and then stuffed it into the cart. Then I put the cart back in the mouthpiece. I'm waiting on my juice to come (should be here in a couple more days), and I'm hoping I did the PTB mod right for the Blu.

I've also been reading a lot about dripping... but I'm almost too scared to try that seeing as I'm a total noob to this vaping thing.

I'm also wondering if DSE103 carts will fit the Blu. I've seen multiple posts about them fitting perfectly, and others about them being too big... So I don't know what to believe.

A little help please!!!! Thanks!!!!!

The atty on the Blu is decent and not very expensive, I started with a Blu myself, only problem I had beside the lower vapor and TH was the battery life, I would recommend getting a 510 battery and charger well, I still keep my Blu atty as a backup while my 510 attys (for some reason I can't seem to kill them) are drying after being cleaned.

Well... I got my juice and DSE103 carts today. The carts are too big for the Blu. They clamp over the air inlet holes. I filled one of my PTB modded Blu carts... and that seems to work really well. But Dripping. OMFG. I love dripping. The vapor you get from dripping is just unreal! I think I may just stick to dripping.

I ordered Johnson Creek Smoke Juice. It's alright.... but I want WAY MORE FLAVOR.

Anybody got any good recommendations? Also... I would prefer something made with VG over PG. So any help would be awesome!

I also bought a Blu as my first e-cig. I also went through the carts faster than advertised and had the same diminished vapor effect as DyMic, which led me to dripping exclusively on my Blu. So far the best liquid, to my taste, that I have found is the Halo Menthol Ice. No idea the PG/VG mix in their liquid though. In a cart I'd recommend any thing from Tasty Vapor. They let you customize the flavors in the liquid (up to 3 flavors) and the mix of Pg/VG. From the site (MG referring to the Nicotine level) : "At 48mg - 10% VG, 36mg - 20%, 24mg - 35% and at 12mg - 50%". The Doublers (4oz. NO nicotine liquid used to cut a standard 30ml Nicotine liquid) go up to 70% VG, I think. So you could order a 30ml bottle with 35-50% VG, cut it with a 50-70% VG doubler on the cheap, compared to 100% VG juices which can be a little costly. Just a thought.

I'm a relatively new Blu user also. I agree the cartridge life is way too short and have been looking thru the forums for a solution. I'm still a bit confused about "juice" and "dripping".
Any suggestions or info would be appreciated.
When you say you removed the plastic insert prior to dripping - doesn't the liquid then come right out into your mouth?

Barb...

Dripping is extremely easy, and you don't get any juice in your mouth.

First off, juice is easy to get. I bought some Johnson Creek Smoke Juice, but I'm pretty sure if you dig around here on the forums, you can find some better stuff, as I'm going to next time I buy some juice.

Dripping is really easy, especially with the Blu. If you take a look at your atomizer, you'll notice that V-shaped bridge that comes out of it. The juice bottles I have come with drippers. I just fill up the dripper, and drip 2 or 3 drops right on the bridge of the atomizer, put on an empty cartridge (I'll get to that here in a moment), and let it sit for a minute so the juice can soak into the atomizer. Then I puff away and get awesome vapor. Lasts me about as long as an analog.

Now about pushing out the plastic cartridge insert...
Take a paper clip and unbend it so you have a straight line. Then poke it in the little draw hole on the cartridge, and poke the plastic insert out. There you go. An Empty Cartridge. You don't have to worry about any juice getting your mouth because it soaks into the atomizer, and there's nothing in the cartridge.

I hope this helps you out. I've literally seen the money I've saved because of vaping. And it's nice not having to run out to the gas station every day to buy a pack.

Happy Vaping!!!!!! :vapor:

I cannot stress how much better Blus are after you ditch the pre-filled carts and fill them with e-juice. I was highly bummed before my liquid came. Now I have no more vapor problems and the flavor is much much better. Although I tried dripping, I prefer to just fill up the carts with juice. I've used no mods. Just soak the wool and vape my brains out. Be sure to wash out the wool from time to time because it does have a tendancy to not absorb the liquid after a while. I started out smoking Marlboro Menthols more than 16years ago. I've always prefered Menthol, but found it too harsh and smoked regular cigarettes for most of those 16 years. I'm now vaping with 16mg menthol and there is no harshness. Just cool, clean and smooth like a breath of fresh air.

I so appreciate that you share your experience - I'm still a little confused about
1. E-juice does it come pre-mixed or is that something I have to do?
2. What about the clear plastic insert in the cartridge that the "wool" sits in - keep it or lose it and doesn't it prevent the juice from leaking out?

Clearly I don't understand exactly how all this works - I'm just VERY glad it does because I smoked analogs for 45 years and tried multiple methods to quit - until I ordered my Blu. While I'm a little less than fully satisfied - at least I no longer smoke. HUGE step for me. But I would like to make this experience more enjoyable (better vapor, better throat hit) without having to spend a huge amount of time and energy to do so.

Thanks

I thank you for your willingness to help. I have pushed out the little clear inserts many times and haven't thrown anything away yet in case I can refill and re-use.

Are you saying I don't need anything at all in the empty black cartridge - no insert and no filler (wool, blue foam, whatever ...)? Just drip e-juice onto the atty point, pop the empty cartridge mouthpiece back on and vape?

I guess I better order some e-juice today ...

Most vendors sell pre-mixed e-juice, I believe there are only a few that sell the DIY Mixing supplies... So, basically you should be able to get juice anywhere.

When you drip, you get about 3 or 4 quality puffs from the ecig and then you have to drip again. Normally, if you use a cart, you can get more than 3 or 4 puffs.

If you want to make dripping easier with the blu, take an empty cart and remove the inner cart, then use a razor to slice off the mouth piece end... when done correctly, you end up with a tube... you can drip without taking the cart off after that... I believe that is called tail-piping...

Also... To Barb...

You need not worry about getting any of the juice in your mouth. It all soaks into the atomizer and gets vaped.

Also, juices USUALLY come pre-mixed. I ordered some new stuff from striclyejuice.com and it's AWESOME with the Blu. The vapor and flavor is so much better than that ..... I got from Johnson Creek.

I highly recommend trying some flavors from there.

On another note.... I'M AT 21 DAYS VAPING, AND I HAVE MANAGED TO STEP DOWN TO ULTRA LIGHT NICOTINE!!!!! I'm hoping by the end of a two month period to be down to NO NICOTINE.... but I'll still vape because that's too much money to spend on something and then just quit, and the flavor and enjoyment of vaping is just far too great to give up.
