Greetings; I've been looking at that thread in the New Members forum in which people put up pix of their vaping rig, and i'm blown away by how awesome some of the mech mods look. I've pretty much decided to get a mech mod for myself -- battery safety was a worry, but I've come to realize that APV batteries aren't going to jump out of the tube and bite me on the ..., and it won't hurt me (much) to learn Ohm's law, plus I can get a Kick for any mech mod.

What kind of stuff have you seen in Canada that has caught your attention? I'd like to buy something from this side of the border, if possible. I could go for something available at CV -- I like the K-100s and the Vision Blades -- but i'm wondering if anyone has found a Canadian supplier selling some of the cooler mech mods. Some of the ones in the 'pictures of your setup' thread are incredible!

Regards
Glenn

Vaporus has quite a few cheap mech mods, as does Canvape. Seems there's much less availability for any of the higher end stuff.

Gentleman's Reserve never has the GG in stock, Happy Vaper never has the Precise in stock... etc etc. High demand, low supply.

Honestly, if China actually got around to making a high end mech mod in mass quantities, they'd make a killing. I don't really understand why they are so hell bent on on making $40 copies of low quality. I imagine they could make a damn fine mod for $100... so why don't they?

They do make high quality mods and rbas

Have you heard of h cigar

They make 1:1 copies of high end mods and rbas
Nemesis chi you trident steam turbine kylin

And they are at times hitting harder than the real thing

They dont need to inflate prices for $200 mods

The ChiYou isn't bad, and the price for them at GR isn't that much more than CY clones. I could definitely see myself getting something like that, though what really floats my boat is some of the more hi-tech-looking stuff out there, such as the iHybrid. Check out the one below:

I have a Chi You clone, and it's a good clone... but my comment still stands. All they need to do is invest a little more and make their tolerances more narrow. They aren't 1:1 copies. Good, but there's still some sloppiness: Review: Real Chi you vs Fake Chi you (How to spot the difference)

I have about 5 cheap mech mods and for the price they are great. Some worse than others. I mean, the Chi You clone is the more expensive clone and it's also one of the best clones. Doesn't that sort of prove my point?

And I dig the Smoktech Magneto, but again, I can't help but think that they could have made an amazing product if they bumped it up to $100 territory. As it is right now, it's still just "good for the money."

Greetings; I just stumbled across the Eastside Vapes website -- you lucky Vancouver people! -- which is carrying something called the 'Hero' by CalModz: Hero by CalModz

I like this very much! Very clean and potent looking. I'm trying to not spend money dumbly at the moment, but if Christmas bonuses are good this year....hmm.

There are some engraved after-market for Chi Yous that look really good. The EV 'Coming Soon' page talks about brass Chi Yous coming available this month...these look very interesting.

Cool! I Googled it, and came up with the following link for a Nemesis/HCigar group buy. The Nemesis clone is actually $36 before shipping, and it's possible to arrange pickup for people living in the East End of Toronto (like me!): HCigar Group Buy - Nemesis, Hammer, and Ithaka clones

This looks interesting.

OK, so ended up going with this group buy for my first mod: Nemesis Stainless Steel + Ithaka :D
$91.75 shipped to my door, not a bad price considering those are made by HCigar and are supposedly higher quality than the fasttech clones.
Thanks to the member who posted about the group buy.

I was debating about the Ithaka because
1) it's more of an advanced RBA that seems quite complicated to build
2)I'm not to much of a fan of the NR-R-NR configuration
I just couldn't resist since I really like the look of it and I really wanted to see it as it seems to be an amazing piece of engineering .

So
1) I'm planning on also getting a Trident RDA to practice my coil building skills first
2) I found out that I can purchase NR-R-NR wire already made so I'll go that route

Now the waiting game begins...

Greetings; The co-op organizer just added Kayfun 3.1 clones to the buy, and i decided to get one.

The Ithaka is tempting, but it looks very complex to use -- i'm clutzing out trying to rebuild PT coils. However the Kayfun (clone) looks fairly simple.

I might get a Nemesis clone when the co-op order arrives, if there are any leftovers, but I'm also thinking about getting a real Nemsis (or an orig mech mod in that price range). Are the HCigar/Nemeis clones really made out of stainless steel?

Greetings; I've found an online/B&M vape shop in Montreal with a selection of mech mods that are not only high end but also -- wait for it -- in stock! Feast your eyes on the one below, The Pisces, in 14500 mode.

BTW this vape shop currently has ST Magnetos in stock, and i am sorely temped to order one this afternoon.

The co-op stuff arrived yesterday, are you getting your stuff shipped to your place or are you doing a pick-up?

I got a Kayfun clone, which I hope to p/u today.

I didn't order an HCigar Nemesis clone through the co-op, but I did buy one from another source last week, and I absolutely love it. It's all I've been using, and the vape quality is great.

Not sure I like how the logos are copied so accurately from the original; as I heard from video reviewer describe it, this HCigar Nemmy is more like a 'counterfeit' than a clone. I'm thinking seriously about getting a real Nemesis. But in the meanwhile, this HCigar version is an awesome vape.
