Bought my first e cig! A few questions

Hey everyone,
So I know I'm supposed to start small and work my way up but I had previously tried several friends e cigs and they didn't quite do it for me personally. Then I tried someones VV mod (am I using the term right?). I knew I didn't care what it looked like or how much it was I wanted the hit it produced in my throat. No flavor, just wanted to feel like a red cigarette.
Long story short I bought the provari and added a 3ml tank along with a dual coil 1.5 ohm cart.
I'm really eager to learn the ins and outs of this thing and what works best for me and later help others. I've read through most stickies in the new members forum but where do I go from here? Still a little lost on differences of carts and attys and whether or not I can purchase better parts to get more vapor etc for my e cig.
Thanks in advance.

Wow! It sounds like you did great right out of the chute! I, like many, had to experience the small battery disappointment syndrome, aka sbds, that many newbies suffer.

Thanks. Well the person who let me try his out told me he spent quite a bit of $ working his way up to the provari so I figured I'd just do it all at once. No analogs in 3 days that's amazing for me. But in the little bit of reading I'm doing I think I should be on a higher resistance carto than 1.5 ohms. Some advice and maybe the differences/advantages?

You've got some great gear there, and since you haven't smoked in 3 days you're off to an excellent start! Congrats!!

What voltage are you vaping your 1.5 at?

What makes you think you might need a higher resistance carto?

I'm not a huge fan of LR attys/cartos, but they can really help some juices shine. Speaking of juice, don't discount it - it plays a major role in vapor production and throat hit. I use the stock Joyetech 2.0 Ohm atomizers that ProVape sells on their site for direct dripping usually between 3.6 - 4.1V.

Welcome to ecf and Povariland. Haven't tried map tanks yet but have tried dc cartos.
If I knew then what I know now I woulda saved some cash and trial and error and bought a few
vision stardust clearos. Easy to fill, clean and use. Work great and look good on the PV although I'm
finding they work best below 5v with most juices, still get lots of flavour and vapour.
5 or six bucks each, choice of resistance levels. Last a long time and can be rebuilt.
Win/win for me anyways.:2c:

My first Vapourizer was a Provari too.

Cheers f2e

thats what i am talking about. go big or go home. smart choice. that is the first and last pv you just bought. you skipped all the beginner gear and went for the gold. good job.

That's exactly what I said when the guy at the shop gave me the drop jaw lol. Go big.

Currently I'm running the 1.5 ohm DC carto but I can't turn it up over 4.7 v without it erroring out. I hear 2.5 ohm can get me to 5.7 maybe higher. What do you guys recommend? I'm trying to get hard big hits with lots of vapor. I'm using Pink Spot honey tobacco.
I'm a crazy tinkerer so I'm down for pretty much anything.

Hi f2e. Welcome to the ECF. I have been using my vg device for a few months now I can say that low resistance cartos are harder on your battery. With that said I know that it an obvious statement but think of it like this.... a two ohm cargo will draw the battery down twice as fast as a four ohm cargo. Since you can adjust your voltage higher to achieve the same output power you should give a lower ohm carto a try to minimize your strain. On my own device I can typicall get six hours with a two ohm carto where I can get about nine from a three ohm carto. I do not own a provari so I can only tell you about my own experience. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Somewhere in PA on my Ultra Limited
NICE, jump to the front of the line !!!!

I'm running Boge 3.0ohm single coils in my DCT V2 tank with a long barrel drip tip (not my idea, but works great +1 to the poster who suggested it else where). I've used a bunch of dual coil cartos and really haven't liked them as much as singles (YMMV).
