I am ready to try some home brew juice of the mad scientist variety. I have a 500ml bottle of 100mg flavorless nic in VG that I will be using to supply the nicotine content. I have seen reference to alcohol in the recipe calculator and was wondering what sort of alcohol as I have in mind a nice flavored bourbon. I figure there must be a max concentration for happy vaping. Anyone stumbled down this road?

I would not go any higher than 20% with the bourbon. You will need to let the juice breathe for a few days once mixed to allow the alcohol to evaporate. You might have better luck if you actually boil the bourbon first to get most of the alcohol out before mixing. Just don't set anything on fire. ;)

You could also try using a bourbon flavoring. I use TFA's KY Bourbon in one of my mixes, and it is pretty darn tasty. There are plenty of booze flavor concentrates available, including absinthe, amaretto, brandy, cognac, champagne, wine, rum, etc. TFA - Kentucky Bourbon - MyFreedomSmokes.com

You would probably get more answers in our DIY section. Not sure how many posts you need to start a thread in there, though. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/

go with the bourbon flavoring........... I use a couple drops of vodka to increase throat hit.... that's in a 1.8 ml clearo

if you're still going to go ahead and boil the bourbon to get the alcohol out, then use a thermometer and just bring it up to 173 degrees Fahrenheit, that's the point at which alcohol turns from a liquid into a gas....... boiling

just saying what I know to be true......... it's still a free country I think.... do whatever you wish
