The Smoktech Groove has everything I want (except for a better way to determine remaining battery life) but was recalled. I use the palstic version that might not poose a safety issue like the metal Groove, but three others I got them for don't want recalled mods at all.

I need 3 box MODs for noobs.
mod needs:
VV, huge internal battery (internal battery only, no other suggestions please), and hopefully has an ohm checker and way to tell the bettery life.

July 18th, Innokin said on facebook they're adding an ohm checker and VW to the new version 2 MVP (I don't need VW though). If that's the 18th, how long should we expect to actually get these from vendors? 6 weeks? I also prefer more than 2600 mAh but think that's what version 2 MVP is.

Did anything come out recently or is coming out in the next couple weeks that meets the specs I listed, or should I just get 3 MVPs from fastech for like $43 each shipping included?

MVP version 2 will probably be like $80 plus shipping, plus I don't want to keep these people waiting much longer for their MODs.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

I heard around September for the improved MVP.

The 134 is the first to roll out, and then it'll either be the MVP or the VTR (box mod with replaceable battery).

The only other box mods that I know of are those DNA20 ones.

I love my MVP and will upgrade when the new version comes out... but I'm doing fine without an OHM checker. It'd be nice, but the MVP is worth it even without the resistance checker. And I paid $55 for mine, and I'm happy with my decision.

I love mine as well! It was my first mod and performs really well. I am definitely looking forward to v2, but I'm certainly happy with the performance and battery life of my v1 MVP. I say go for it!

I too like my MVP, but for me its dosent have quite the outstanding battery life others seem to get out of it. It lasts a good day I guess. It prob would last longer if I out up with vaping it on 'yellow' but for me I really notice the drop off on it at yellow. I know there's reviews out there that have suggested there isn't a cut off, but I defo notice a decreased performance from my MVP with a kanger pro tank or a vivi nova once the bat reaches yellow. It also, (and again I'm prepared to accept I might have a slightly dodgy unit here) seems to cut off randomly for no reason. Simply turns itself off after one or two vapes, I dunno, it's kind of annoying. Aside from this however its a great mod and a great price too given the features and build quality.

The VtR will likely be my next mod, I may skip the MVP 2 altogheter... I like the mechanical look (i dont mean it's a mechanial mod, just the stylings) of the VtR and if I can just stick 18650's which I have loads off in it, it's a no brainer for me.

Thanks.
I can do without an ohm checker too but want it for 3 noobies. They're probably going to be overwhelmed with my noobie instruction guide already, so a section for using a multimeter will make vaping seem more of a displeasure at first if they don't embrace the somewhat complexity of vaping.

Yeah, zombie, the battery will last more if you don't let it run low before charging. probably too late to fix that. Don't leave it on the charger when fully charged either. Pretty sure all lipo batteries etc (phone, electric shaver, etc) are like this.

I hope MVP's 2600 mahs will last these 3 noobies. They should raise the mAhs on the version 2. I still use my recalled 3800 mah Smoktech Groove (plastic though which probably doesn't even pose a problem like the metal version). I never ran it dead, and I've vaped vaped 8 mls in a day (give me a break, smoked for almost 20 years and was only 6MG %100 VG delicious organic juice). But still, as mentioned, running it low then recharging kills the battery faster, so the more mahs, the more months it lasts.

Vegan, you say for noobies, so you want ohm check?

What did you intend to put on top? Ohm check is really only necessary if you recoil or think you have a shorted coil, so all they need is the standard intro to VV - i.e. start low volts and work up until you like it.

I'd suggest skipping anything about rewinding coils until they have a firm foundation of what vaping is all about... :toast:

Jef, 4 hours (I think) to charge isn't bad. They'll probably charge them overnight which isn't good for battery life but should get a good 9 months. I'm including car cahrgers too. The more mAhs the longer it takes.

True, if they don't build coils, they'll just read the ohms written on them. I think only 1 outa the three will build and the rest will just buy, although I'm including silica and hemp wick and wire and instructions. I'm going to say "... or just buy them for like $1.5 each".

I'm getting them (and me because I like rubber tips can't use on PT1) a PT2/davide glassomizer/puritank, most likely puritank because I think it might be the only stainless one and not chrome plated brass that leaches.

If it is to be their only device, I wouldn't recommend it because of the long charge times, and the cord that comes with it is too small to be used as a passthru. If this is to be their main device, and they have a back-up -- do it.

But I'd be S.O.L. is I didn't have my Triton Tank kit as my backup.

I fix that particular issue on mine by using an apple iPad wall charger and an extender USB cable. You can get them pretty cheap from most electronics places, pc shops etc. my one gives the cable at least an extra metre, I suspect there's ones that do even longer cables. I would kinda like them to have proper USB input on the charge next model, that way I'm not having to use just that cable provided but any decent USB cable I have.
