Hey all I'm looking at building an 18650 box mod and have a few question.

First question - will a 2x aa box be long enough to hold an 18650? I don't plan on having the on/off switch.

Second - what size wire should I use to limit voltage drop?

Third - does the length of the wire play a factor in question 2?

Fourth - would the switches mamu uses in her milo mod be sufficient to use for this mod? I like the small tactile button. If they aren't sufficient could you please let me know why that is (so I have the knowledge) and direct me towards a small tactile switch that would.

Fifth - would I be able to use tis mod for low ohm build like a mech mod? If not please elaborate (so I also have the knowledge for this).

Thank you in advance
Skyler

from what little i know:

1. 2xaa wont be tall enough, dont remember what the smallest case for 18650 is.

2. sounds like youre making an unregulated mod so i would go 18 to 20 gauge, that should be good.

3. the shorter the run the better i believe.

4. the small tactiles wouldnt work. depending on how many max amps youll be running, i would match the amp rating of the button to be above that.

5. you can.

Thanks jmarkus. Just need a little more information on the questions. I don't like having questions lol. I like to be 100% on everything I do before I do them.

Thanks asdaq. There isn't going to be anything else but a switch and some wires. Now how do I determine the switch that I need to use? Also I was reading that there is a resistor that I might be able to use to allow me to use a smaller switch like I'm looking to use. If this is so what resistor is it that I need? And how would I wire it to be able to use the smaller switch?

ive fit an 18500 with a dna20d in a 9v battery box with taking a little material off the door to make it fit. works perfect.

I don't remeber the questions in order but here you go.

use a 9volt battery box. you will have to shave a little material off of the lid or the bottom under the battery (this is for a 18500). I would use the space for the on off switch but you cant't use the one that comes with the box it is made for a low amp device. you need to get one that has at least a 3 amp capacity. The small tacktile switches like Mamu and other use is for use in a regulated device that has a mosfet in it so you can't use it either. for a fire button I would use a 5 amp switch you can find them at digikey they have tons of switches. As for the wire size you need to use 20 guage wire or bigger and yes the longer the wire the more power loss. I think that you need to go look at a couple of videos on youtube. Steel Jan has some good ones. Another good source of Mod information is at Breaktru's forum. He is a modding guru. His forum has tons and I meen Tons of information, he even has a section on where to get parts for free. Do a little research and you will be fine. I hope this helps. I have been building mods for a while now and I have built about 20 of them some have been just what I think you are after. Most have been regulated devices including 4 dna20d's so far. I still have 6 chips left in my stock so I will be building more of them. good luck and good vapes.

peace
