question on building a mech box mod. *Hope this thread is in the correct place*

Hello everyone, I have some questions on building a mech box mod.

1) Ive never built a mod before so this will be my first go.
2) what Hammond box would be best to house 2 18650s in parallel?
3) i know it wont be a true mech box if i use wire, is there a way to complete
the circuit without doing so? if not, then would 10G wire be OK? I was looking
for wire that was 30amp but i think it be too thick for my first go. (input please)
4) i know a lot of retail box mods use a 10 amp switch. but i found a 30 amp push button switch at Granger
would that be ok?


I'm not diving into this just yet this is just what ive came up with while doing research. Thanks again guys and keep on

If this is your first mod, I would seriously start smaller. Or cheaper anyway. If your soldering skills aren't very good, that's another reason to start small. I recommend you start by building a Puck mod. Safer than what you're planning and it's a good mod to learn for a beginner. And if you screw it up, you won't be out a whole bunch of money.

I still have the first two Pucks I made, and they still work great.
