Looking for a new set up..think i've narrowed the body to one of three...Evic, itaste SVD or Smoketech SID. The problem is I want to hold them to feel the weight/size..etc. Only one I can do that with is the evic because it's sold at the local B&M store.

...now for the tank...do I try another protank 2? I'm not to impressed with the one I have. Seem to be very temperamental, sometimes it's awesome, other times it like sucking on a milkshake (50/50 juice).

decisions, decisions...thoughts?

Well, being that I don't personally own any of the devices you mention, word has it that you would be hard pressed to find an issue with the SVD. I have used a buddy's SID, and it was a nifty little thing, but not the most "Robust" build. The Evic has a following, but it is known to be fragile. The SVD, or any Innokin product seem to be well respected. While you're at it, the Innokin Iclear 30 clearo is worth a try as well. I believe Innokin delivers the Iclear 30 with the SVD in kits.

Hopefully someone in your area will chime in with a B&M that has the others you're thinking about.

Have you looked on here to see if there is a B&M nearby that may have these in stock?

I just said this a minute ago, but I hate buying things online for just that reason. I'm a very kinetic person, and I need to like how my pv looks as well. Luckily I live in a major city so I have lots and lots of B&M shops nearby so I can go and hold them and press the buttons, put my tank on them, ect. A couple of the shops even let me test batteries and one shop has one of every clearo and carto they sell filled up for testing.

I know this wasn't really a helpful response, but I feel your pain.

You must have looked at my group of regulated mods, as I have all three you are interesting in. I first got the Evic, then the SID and then the SVD. They all have their pluses and minuses.
The Evic is a nice device with an onboard charger, firmware can be updated, has a max wattage of 11 watts. The button is on the opposite side from the screen. Single button operation.
The SVD is telescopic, but the button is on the opposite side from the screen. It has a max wattage of 15 watts. It has a spring loaded center pin on the 510 connector. It has two side buttons for adjusting settings and locking them.
The SID has the button on the same side as the screen and is a single button system with a very simple, but complete menu. It has a max wattage of 15 watts.

It is hard to pick my favorite from the three. I have enjoyed each of them and they have served me well. The one I use the most is the SID because it is so easy to operate. I also use a lanyard to carry my mod around my neck and the button/screen layout on the SID works better for that.

I love my SVD! With an 18650 battery its long and has a good heft to it. I really like it in 18350 mode. The battery time is shorter but so is the device. Its solidly built and I haven't had a problem with it yet.

I also just got in a couple of Innokin's new iclear 30bs. They look great on the SVD and they perform great!! I'm a die hard protank user and they have changed my mind!

Sent from somebodys phone I found using Tapatalk.

Buddy of mine has a SiD and I can tell you hands down it's the reason I got into vaping and started taking it seriously.

I settled on the Itaste 134 for myself. It looks too much like a sonic screwdriver not to own one. It's hefty and rugged. I dig that.

Now that i have the bug... I'm liking the look of the Itaste VTR.

The Iclear 30 atomizer is pretty awesome and is comparable to the protank 2.

Just recently picked up The Russian 91 as my first rebuildable. Digging the crap out of it for the most part.

One of the guys at one of my local B+M's has an Evic and an SID(in addition to a ton of others) and he loves the Evic but he says his SID is finicky. I was inquiring about one in the store and he advised me it probably was not a good bet. He actually directed me to a slightly cheaper VV/VW battery holder(don't remember name/brand but it was red and silver) and told me that was probably the best in his store for the same price point and he had used the display model quite a bit for demonstration purposes when they first got them in and he loved it.

I want one that will read atomizer ohms and keep a constant wattage. Right now I am using a ego 1100 MaH straight battery and also have a Vision Spinner (VV Straight battery).
I tent to vape on the cool side, about 5 watts and average about 2.2 ohm coils... That is with 50/50 juice. I want to start going more towards a 70/30 VG/PG juice. Don't know if I will have to adjust my current settings for that mixture.
