Brand New and Need Help Please :)

I just lost my dad 2 weeks ago to smoking and I want to stop. I have the V2 atomizers and now I'm looking for a good menthol to replace my Basic Menthol Ultra Lights. And I'm trying also to figure out what level of nicotine to use. I think I'm somewhere between a light and a medium. Please don't recommend to make my own, I'm not ready for that. If I can get to using the V2 with some liquid I will upgrade to a better e cig. But for now this is about all I have. Any suggestions? And I've smoked for 15 years. I do think I like the VG liquids? I'm sensitive to alot of chemicals and the V2 flavors I tried where so chemical tasting and just AWFUL! I did find a Vanilla/Banana Flavor from Bonair that I like but I didn't like their menthol. HELP Please!!! :)

First sorry for your loss I lost my aunt almost 2 years ago (can't believe it's been that long) to smoking and it def changes yoru outlook on smoking and how you treat your body. To answer your question a good starting point in my opinion is 18mg-12mg of nicotine if your sensitive to chemicals and what not def stick with vg or even better 20/80 pg/vg. The nicotine content will change how harsh the vapor is on your throat more so than anything so the lower the nicotine the smoother the vape however the trade off is your cravings could be pretty hard if you start at 12mg depending on your current nicotine intake. Getting a liquid that perfectly mimics a cigarette is almost impossible but it is possible to get something close enough to work. I was a marlboro menthol smoker and the best thing I came up with was a mix of halo true pure, halo menthol ice, ave 555, ave flue cured, and a hint of gorilla juice just to give it a little flavor (this can not be added if you don't want it). The best thing to do is try different menthols not sure who carries them bc I have always stuck with halo for menthol. Honestly the best thing to do is just try different juices in sample for till you find waht tastes the best. AVE has some awesome juices but no menthol, instead you buy a tobacco that you want and then add menthol drops to get it perfect but beware the drops are STTRRROOONNNGGG. some good juice places IMO are copper creek, ave, halo, vaperite has some good flavors as well as vape dudes. Like i said the best I came across was the mix I listed earlier in this post, if I were you I'd try it it will also give you the chance to try several different flavors while making one really good menthol

I'm also sorry to hear of the loss of your mother to smoking. I purchased my first e-cig, a disposable N-Joy at a convenience store, when my mother first learned that she had cancer. She died about two weeks later as it had gone undetected and was advanced beyond treatment.

But her death put the reality of my mortality into a fresh perspective, and along with the discovery of e-cigarettes, I was able to totally quit within one week of starting the e-cigs.

I will strongly recommend that once you are convinced that vaping can help you quit, to move up to a more advanced setup no less than the mid-level eGo class of batteries. This will open up the options of different juice delivery devices so that you can tailor it to best fit your individual needs. I started with the cigarette-sized batteries, but within 3 weeks I knew I needed to advance to the more advanced mods that use replaceable, rechargeable battereis. By that time function and better performance was more important than size/appearance to me. That worked for me and I've not had a cig for 10 months.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind words and advice. I did order the Halo, just a sample and something else. I have the V2 batteries but the shop guy gave me a clear glass cartridge for ontop that I can fill with ejuice and it works pretty well. Just having trouble finding flavors I like. Hated the V2 stuff, so chemical tasting, and I was actually avoiding even using them. Not quite a help if I want to quit. Thanks for the advice on flavors and strengths. I guess my last question would be, my brother in law as an Ego e cig and I like how it works, but for a tiny girl like me it seems too big? Is there a girly Ego??? :)

My sympathies to you. I lost a family member to smoking, and yet I started. You will NEVER replicate a true menthol CIG experience. You can get it to the point where you have the menthol flavor followed by a sweet, tobacco taste, but you cannot replicate the nasty burning taste. As far as nic goes, start low and GRADUALLY work up until you get the throat hit you want, to satisfy your cravings. I was a reds guy, and yet I vape fruit flavors (love the cherry ones)...

These are the samllest egos from what I have seen the silver one is a standard ego 650 the white one is a 650 twist which is variable voltage and IMO the better buy. The life of them is about 1/2 day maybe a day if you vape lightly at low voltage and high ohms On top of them is a vision stardust or "clearomizer" also the cigarette is a 100 and it is not mine, I just stole it from my roomate's pack to show size a little better

You will feel sooo much better! The first month can be kind of rough cause your body is ridding itself of all those nasty chemicals but after that it is all downhill! I don't cough anymore! My oldest daughter told me the other day that is how she knew I was up in the morning cause I would be hacking away.

Also I never noticed before that I couldn't laugh without getting a coughing fit...not no more! And used to just taking the garbage cans to the curb used to leave me winded! No more of that either!

And the proudest moment that I have had so far is when someone asked me for a lighter and for the first time in 20 years I could say no...I quit smoking!

condolences. find some place close to that you can go and try different flavors. i went through alot to find mine. but when you find it you'll be happy. the happier you are. the easier it is to quit. took me 3 weeks to finally just say no. i breathe better and don't smell like a cigarette. you will smell that smell after a couple of weeks. you'll think, jeeez is that what my car smells like to other people. it all can be confusing. alot to learn quickly. check out everthing you can. different mods, juice, tanks, clearomizers. if you plan to keep vaping after you stop smoking. you may be better off to go ahead and buy a quality mod that you like now, and be done with it. otherwise you'll be wanting to upgrade later and wind up spending alot more money than if you just did it in the first place. that's what happened to me, and alot of other people. i went from an ego to a provari. wish i would have bought it right of the bat. alot of good info and advice here on ECF. good people to help you. just ask. also wath some videos on youtube. especially ( pbusardo ) just search his name. alot of questions will be answered for you that you haven't even asked yet. you can do it. if i can anyone can. just don't give in, espcially when you get weak. take a walk and vape. leave the cigs at home so you won't be tempted.
good luck

Hello, sreeve and welcome to ECF. I'm so sorry for your loss.

There are plenty of great menthols out there. And girly, beautiful eGos, pink, purple, mini--you name it. You will want to read this thread started by Dragonbone:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-girly-pretty-decorated-pink.html#post6942963

Now onto menthols. I like Nhaler's Nuport and plain menthol and Backwood Brew's menthols--those are subtle, clean, beautiful blends of mild tobacco base and a hint of menthol. Halo's menthols are very clean and complex, but I can't vape them all the time.
