I just received a new atty for my 801 in the mail today, and it is not wicking any juice from a cart. It is also burning the cart plastic, and it taste awful. I can get a few hits if I drip, but then it starts to taste like burning plastic again. Is this a common problem with 801 atties, or did I just get a dud? It is a low bridge, if that makes a difference.

For burning cart plastic just snip off a bit of the cart mouthpiece (the bit that fits into the atty obviously lol) with some scissors - 510 s can do this with carts and its annoying but easily fixed.
As for the burning taste/bad wicking - did you blow it through to remove any factory primer?

Sorry, I should have listed what I've already tried. I blew out the atty and reprimed with fluid, tried sniping off cart plastic, using a different cart, using a different battery, other common things I can't think of right now... None of it seems to work. When I pull the cart off after it starts to taste bad, it is still soaked to the point it won't even take one drop. Is it possible the atty came without a wick?

No he tried dripping so unless he was dripping and still had cart filler then its not likely the cart filler. Cart filler doesn't usually fry either lol.
Could your 801 not have a wick? Its possible - the QC on these things isn't impressive - I'm not sure how'd you'd check for that though - the bridge looks normal?
It does sound like a bit of a dud if its causing you so many issues off the bat. Have you tried posting in the model specific forums? There's one just for 801 users, its in general, in the subforums.
