Brand new Ego C Twist non-functioning

Just bought a brand new ego c twist as my first kit. From my hours of research trying to trouble shoot today, I think it's a knockoff. Either way, after hours of looking I can't find a solution to my specific problem.

The indicator light on the battery has never come on. When I plug it into the charger, the charger light changes colors, but the white battery light never blinks or turns on to indicate a charge is happening. I even left it "charging" for four hours and attempted the 5 click turn on move, nothing happened. I cleaned all the connections, I pulled up the center pin (not to hard, though. I'm afraid of breaking it), and still the battery indicated nothing. I have not read about a single person who has had this issue with a brand new unit, but I've tried all the solutions from folks who had their working unit go bad. Mine has been bad since before use!

It's a Saturday and by the time I realized the issue, the store had already closed for the day. Worst part is they will be closed tomorrow and I leave town (here visiting) on Monday morning. Not sure I'll have the chance to go back for a refund or exchange...

Kinda disparate here and not wanting to go buy a pack of smokes. Any help out there?

I had this problem with my twist knock off. For me the threads on twist wouldn't fit on charger properly. Now it's just my back up. I'm able to charge it if I put a clamp on it while its on charger, and place it just right so it won't lose contact. Absolute pain in the .... That's why its my back up. I recommend getting an mvp2. They are reasonable, and reliable.

If you have tried turning it on more than once...

That, and the lack of the fire button blinking blinking at all when connected to a charger - yeah it sounds like a dud battery with most likely a broken wiring connection inside.

Never cut yourself too short on backups. Three battery minimum because if something goes wrong with just one of those three you only have the bare minimum to keep you vaping.

When you do 5 clicks (to power on and off), does it do a blink indication (off or on)?

The light on the battery has not come on at all. Nothing. Zip. Nada. The only reason I know it's white is because do the hours of videos I've watched trying to get this damn thing to work.

Trying to quick smoking, so I get disposable ecigs. I assume they're crappy because they're cheap. I go out and spend $70 and it still sucks. So many people with so many issues. Pretty frustrated with the vaping experience so far.

I've had ego batts DOA before. Sometimes just a little 91% rubbing alcohol under the button gets it working. There must have been some gunk under it.
