Brand new Ego ce4 carto not working - blinking light?

I just got a brand new carto, and after vaping on the same old tired one for over a month, this thing really packed a punch. I couldn't believe how great it was. I was on cloud nine that evening and that morning. I filled it to about halfway, and it stopped working! Wouldn't make a sound. The light would act like it should be working but it wasn't.
i tried tightening the top middle thing and just barely loosened the battery connection to make sure it was touching the battery. Now the light blinks whenever I push it down - still no vape!

so I had to learn how to rinse out the old carto and I'm using it. It tastes awful, the wicks are cleaner but at the top they're black and charred-looking.

I cannot afford a new carto right now and I am very upset at this loss. Is there something I can do to salvage it?

Confused. Are you using cartos or clearos? You mentioned both in your post. Ce4 is a clearo, not a carto. A decent answer to your question depends upon you correctly identifying the delivery device you are using, as they are totally different.

I tried that, it's definitely making contact. I pulled it out a tiny bit - if I tighten it partially, it's a solid blue light when I push the button. If I tighten all the way, it blinks when I push the button. Either way, no vape.

My old one, though nasty-tasting, works fine. So it's not the battery itself. It's odd that the new one worked great until I put more juice in - then it just stopped :(

Sorry to hear you are still having trouble. Try dumping the juice back out into the bottle and fiddle with it to see if it would work.

Other than that you will have to get it replaced or get another one (make it a pack this time?) I learned my lesson. I got myself a 6 pack last time and luckily have not had trouble as of yet (on a 3rd one).

Wish you luck!

It sounds like the clearo is shorting out.

That's the juice gunk on the coil tasting nasty. Part of the maintenance of clearos is washing AND dry burning. Washing cleans the tank and wick while dry burning the head (wick+ coil) cleans the juice gunk from the coil. The wicks are silica- they do not burn.

Hey thanks for the info - I thought when the cool heats up it, over time, burns out the wick. I cleaned it put 5-7 rinses, but the black part at the tops of the wick is still there...how do I get rid of it?

Well, that's why I posted this. I'm a student and have no $, but I did when I decided to start vaping and now I am stuck with an old nasty-tasting one and an awesome new one that doesn't work :(

After dry burning wash the clearo out to remove the gunk ash from the coil.
When I used CE4s before dry burning I removed the silicon cap with tweezers/ needle nosed pliers before dry burning. If you like the CE4 then consider on your next purchase buying the rebuildable CE5.

Well, I went to wicked hot vapors and they showed me that my battery was shot. The new Clearomizer I had put on it apparently shorted out the battery. They were having a 4th of July sale and luckily my boyfriend came thru since its close to my bday and said I could get the new batt and a new clearo!
Since I hadn't vaped in almost two days, I used one of their batts and samples strawberries and cream, caramel nilla tobacco and vanilla bean ice cream :). Got my fix, almost walked out and I realized I should probably have them put together my new pv! They did, and it didnt work! So the guy there took some needle nosed pliers and loosened the metal part that touches to the battery 1 and now I'm vaping! They said if either breaks in the next 2 months, they'll replace it.

Yay! Happy Fourth of July indeed!
