Hey vapers, just got my white kangertech subox today and tried the occ 1.5ohm occ that came with it with a drakes 50/50 mix and wow that did not work!
Popping and flying juice cane out of the drip tip! Scared the crap outta me, definitely not putting my mouth or face close to that!
So i put some wick in the rba and switched to that.
Problem solved!
Not sure if others had the same issues with the prebuilt occ 1.5ohm coil (didnt attempt to use the other included occ yet)
But the rba seems to have solved the issue.
I do have some VG arriving early next week so i can try to mix up a heavier VG blend to make thicker and maybe that will help with the occ coil?
Sound like a good idea? Any thoughts?

1.5ohm OCC (SSOCC) 50/50 is A1 'conditions'
...BUT, that depends on your power..... (I would guess 8-15w is the best range, but don't know)
Spitback/popping often happens, I'm not disputing that; sometimes you just have to fire it a few times and let it subside. It's because there is a lot of liquid on the coil. You would notice this if you dripped liquid directly on the coil(s) of an RDA. It's extreme at times. On a new coil head, straight out of the box, it's essential to prime the coil but you can almost guarantee popping if you got it really soaked in juice.
(Better that way than under-priming).
I think it would have cleared itself up unless you were outside the power band for best performance.
I use a lot of 1.2 pre-built (Kanger and Eleaf) and home-wrapped in the 1.2-1.4ohm catagory (I don't care, I just wrap 7 wraps and don't care if it's 1.0 or 1.6) but 50/50 is easily the best ratio i.m.o.

No kiddding i did have it up around 24watts. Maybe it was too high and also im sure i got some juice on the coil since its my first time doing this.
I also noticed i had juice coming out of the air holes with that occ head, but not with the rba at all.
I had it tightened up but not over so. How would juice come out of those holes if that seal was good?
So it sounds like 8-18 watts should be the sweet spot for the prebuilt 1.5ohm occ. Ill have to try it when my rba juice is gone.
What about the prebuilt rba wattage? Ive got mine at 9watts with slow mouth draws on smallest hole. I tried the middle hole with same wattage and tastes bad.
Sorry for the long post im brand new here (2nd day with the vape) and been reading like crazy to learn.
Thaks for everyones reply!

For the factory coil I would guess it was flooded AND too much power. For the pre coiled rba which needed cotton wicking I believe it was a .5 ohm coil. I would start at about 15 watts and take a hit, bump it up a couple and repeat. If it starts to get too warm, tastes funny or burnt, back the power down.

For mouth to lung on my subtanks the first thing I did was to swap out the wide bore drip tip for a cheap standard 510 sized one. Then cutting the airflow a little made it perfect for mouth to lung at any power setting I used or any coil resistance.

As to your juice, 50/50 will work really well, but most people who sub ohm vape go for the higher VG juices as it makes the vape a bit smoother with less throat hit. Higher VG will also wick slower, giving to the possibility of getting a dry hit or toasting the coil. You'll just have to adjust to your own vape style, it's a learning process.

Just to add to I've been building on the RBA myself for about 4 weeks now, i will say this the RBA is wonky esp with the wicking, Sounds like you might be getting some burnt hits on there. I would suggest the less is more approach for the cotton.
I started this thread a few weeks ago or so maybe it can help you. Just putting it out there, kbox mini rba help

A smaller drip tip would be great for me as i like the mouth to lung hits at the moment! Ill look into this!
I also think i may have packed the wick in the rba a little too much, it definatly didnt pull back and forth though the coil easily and i pushed the excess down towards the holes and its blocking the holes maybe a little to tight now that i think about it.
However i am vaping some 12% nic juice which is about double what i wanted. Ive got some vg and few others things coming this week so maybe i can cut it down with out losing too much flavor?
Ive got a lot to learn but its fun!

VG is not a flavor carrier..
