The enclosed 'switch' on my Magneto II is now sporadically getting HOT as heck and only 'firing' if the upwards pressure is DIRECTLY UPWARDS; if I push at all from the outer portion so the switch essentially move at an angle - it does not fire at all. I have the latest Magneto II and of course there is no easy way to take that switch apart. I'm disappointed as the only replacement switch I found was $24.95 and I believe it is for previous versions of the Magneto and not designed for the "II". I won't blow additional money on another switch that may well fail again in two months.
I contacted the merchant and was told there was nothing he could do other than have me send it to him and he would send it back to his distributor. He warned that in some cases he never sees the item again and it would be "at my risk"; if it disappeared - too bad for me. I have no idea if all merchants are the same on repair policy, however, I am adding the one in question to my "avoid list"; big name on ECF or not. Two months and receiving what amounts to NO HELP is ridiculous.
End of grumble,
Old Man Donnie from Senility Control
