Been looking at e-cigs and finially decided to try them, went to Instead and bought a starter kit and 5 bottles of juice High Nicotine, been smoking for 48 years, back in the day you could smoke anywhere, even the Doctors office, but all that has changed. Going on first plane trip in years to PA with husband and daughter (who don't smoke) staying with relatives for a week, in a no smoking house, Daughter is renting car, which will probably be a no smoking car. Been playing with the e-cigs for about a week now, I think from what I can see on this forum the ones I have are the KR 808's. Does anyone know how long the battery last for these and how do you pack the juice for flying? Also has anyone tried to use these in the airport or the airport bathroom? Don't think I will try to use them on the plane LOL

Don't have any suggestions for packing the juice, really. You just want to make sure it's tightly secured and the cap can't come off during some jostling. Maybe folding it into some t-shirts will help buffer the trauma it would suffer from the bag handlers.

As far as battery life I can't help you there either, I own a 510 so I can't really speak to the battery life of an 808. However, I have heard a multitude of success stories about vaping not only in airports, but on the planes themselves. If you're really out for a nicfit, and unsure if you'd raise eyebrows, just hop into the bathroom and vape away, no nasty aftersmell means you can vape guilt free. Might pack up some PG fluid for the flight, as it typically produces less vapor than any VG fluid, making for a more stealth vape.

Of course, I don't recommend stealth vaping. Your best bet is to make sure your airline will allow PV use on a flight. If they don't, you'd be better off abstaining from vaping until you can do it legally and safely. One thing you have to remember is that we here are at the frontier of vaping, and we don't want to do anything to give these marvelous little devices any bad PR. Play it safe, play by the rules, and most importantly, remember that even though it's completely harmless, 90% of people still don't know what it is, and history shows that folks tend to fear/hate what they don't know and understand.

Last year when I flew, I had to put all liquids in clear plastic bottles and then in a baggie so they were fully visible on the entry belt. If I were you, I would also dismantle the e-cig & put it in a clear baggie so they can tell it's not a detonating device. Members here have used them in the airports and also during flight -- ask security/airline attendants first -- just pull your shirt out and blow the vape down your shirt instead of on the passengers if attendants say you can.

The best way to pack your juice for the trip is to go to rrvaporz.com and order 2 packs of kr808 cartomizers. They cost $5 for a 5-pak (can't beat that). Go on uTube and search "filling cartomizer" to see how it's done. Fill all cartos. Simple as pie. Sorry I don't know how long the batteries last for, as I have a 510. Glad the e-cig is working out for you. Welcome to ECF, and happy vaping. Hope you have a wonderful trip.

When I flew a few months ago I discovered many airlines now have a statement in fine print that says no e-cigs. That said, I did go to the bathroom on the plane and vape. I held the vape in a little longer that usual and then gently blew it in the sink drain, it's like a vacuum. DO NOT exhale up into the smoke detector. They measure particles in the air and will probably go off. I also stealth vaped in the bathroom stall at the airport.

When going through screening be sure to separate batteries and atomizers. I was worried so I put my tornado back in the original box for screening. Also, the carry-on liquid rules apply to e-liquid, follow them!

The TSA guy asked to test it the kit box and I said ok. When he gave it back he said the batteries look just like a detonator. On my return the screener commented on it and said she was familiar with e-cigs.

So, from my experience e-cigs and flying is nothing to worry about.

Checked bags ..
I was so paranoid about all my stuff being confiscated that I had ordered 60ml of juice and all the parts to assemble another 2 tornado's and had them delivered to my sisters house (where I was staying). LOL....there was no way I was going back to analogs.

I put all the new stuff in my checked bags on the way back. All arrived fine.

I have a UBS/AC battery charger, that came with the starter kit and I want a car charger but they are out of them right now, any other suggestions are welcomed.

I thought I had really messed up my E-cig battery last night but I found out that it was acting up because it needed to be charged up. This is a whole new world to me so I am going slowly, sure is different from just lighting up and now I have to drip stuff on wicks, charge batteries, still smoking until I get all this stuff understood.

Very well said Lucavex!!

Also remember that vapor does have a smell (depending on your juice), and some are very bothered by certain ones. My daughters...both adults...cannot stand the smell of my Tobacco #1 from Cignot (I respect their rights and don't vape it in their presence).

Edit: Welcome to ecf Windpray.

Your KR8 is a great unit and is the one of the top 2 with ecf members. I've been smoking for 45 yrs and I remember when smokers ruled and we lit up everywhere, even cigars in fine restaurants...also on short commuter flights (remember the "No Smoking" light the pilot turned on only for take-offs and landings? lol)

thanks for the replies, don't plan on using e-cig on plane or in public airport. Looked at some other posts about traveling and it looks like the airport bathrooms might be a safe place. Do you think that the juice packed in the checked luggage would be okay

Just keep a 3-6ml bottle in your purse in case somehow your luggage gets separated from your arrival time.;)

And I forgot before, but Welcome to ECF. Congratulations on your vaping!
One more thing -- yes, the e-cig is a royal pain in the kazoo, but it's new technology, so things will get eventually get better, more sanitary and less messy. Hang in there, dearheart, it's worth it many times over.
