I have been reading these forums for almost a month now, and I am really excited about purchasing my first e cig. However, there is so much information and every time I think I have settled on the best choice I read something else that makes me question it. First I wanted a Blu (the first one I saw) then I heard they had lousy customer service. After much research I decided on a KR808 because they seem to have the best flavor, etc but then I found many people who said they were noisy to the point of being irritating. So, I would love some seasoned opinions on what would be best for me (I am open to all suggestions).
I am a social smoker so battery life is not a huge problem, I mostly smoke for flavor, so I really want refillable cartridges (or preferrably cartomizers) so I can have many different flavors, and price isn't a big deal, but I don't want to spend a fortune either. Oh, and I want something that is about the size and look of an analog, and I would love to have color options (especially pink).
I hope that's not too much to ask, everyone here seems really helpful and friendly. I look forward to your suggestions. Thanks! :)

Hi.

I have both 510s and 808s. Both are available in colors, but I believe the 510 has more color options available and can be found online fairly inexpensively. Both can use cartomizers if that is the route you want to go with. I don't have any problems with noise from my 808s. Most people I have recommended PVs to, I started them off on 510s, but I like both almost equally.

Hope this helps! Have fun!

Thanks for the suggestions! I really appreciate hearing from someone who has used different kinds. I really like the 808 but like I said I am mostly worried about noise.
I thought I didn't like the non-cigarette looking devices but I was reading somemore threads and stumbled on the ProVape, it looks awesome, any experience? Opinions?

I am a GUY from L.A. not girl. lol
I meant to add, cigarette sized isn't absolutely necessary (it could be a bit longer or something) but I'm not interested in the big box shaped ones or the screw drivers or any that look like something alien. Thanks again!

You can get an eGo in Pink, that would be my choice(except for being pink;)). With an eGomega carto, they are truely amazing. Don't let the size intimidate you, they are much smaller than they appear. Very comfortable in the hand. I wish I had bought mine first, but I was intimidated by the size issue.

Is that the Joye ego or the janty one? There are so many names that overlap in these things, lol.

They are basically the same. If you can get over the lack of pink, greenhouseone.com has a 1 year warranty on ALL parts they sell. Including attys and cartos. That could equate to quite a savings. And their prices are great.

I also use the Joye Ego, love it!! Own black, pink, and red. It is actually a nice fit in my small hand. Very sleek.

I too initially thought I wanted something that looked like an analog or was about the size of one. Now I own Riva, Ego, H016, multiple 808s (reg & XL), 510s (reg & mega), 901s, l88b (my 1st one), passthroughs, and am now looking into either a box mod (was thinking about little sister) or a custom wooden one.

My go to one, is definitely my Ego (for now), fits nice in the hand, long battery life, can use atty & cart, cone or no cone, cartomizers, drip tips... it is a good all purpose PV, just my opinion of course.

:D

Thanks to everyone for the reassurance on the noise of the 808. It is good to hear that they don't all sound horrible. The eGo is starting to look and sound really good. Does anyone know the best place to get them (price, shipping, reputation)? I have found several sights that sell them, and I want to choose the best on if I go that route.

KR808D-1 (808s) are indeed nice, cigarette form factor, many colors available for the battery (the body of the PV).

I believe that in the standard form factor 808s do well for battery life (compared to other cig form factor units), and if you want longer life (though a PCC works well to recharge on the go), V4L has an XL battery.

Cartos are pretty painless, if you're happy to go pre-filled. In that case all there is to vaping is being able to put a battery into a charger, and being able to screw a cartomizer onto a battery.

vapor4life (V4L) has a good selection -- their 808 is called the VaporKing. NHaler, and others, also sell good 808 products. V4L sells a lot of pre-filled cartos, different flavors and strengths, as does NHaler.

The only noise you'll get vaping is an occasional pretty quiet pop, a bit of juice on the atomizer going boom (liquid changing to vapor). Not noticeable to anyone else.

I'm pretty new, but for a cigarette form factor and painless method of use, no fuss no muss, an 808 kit is excellent. (A couple of friends who've switched to vaping I wouldn't dream of telling them to get into other items, or doing their own fills, etc. -- they want something as simple as analogs to use, giving decent flavor/nicotine/vapor, aren't into the hobby aspects.)

I am very into the hobby prospects of vaping. As I mentioned, I smoke for the flavor and enjoyment, not because I need/have to. So, I can easily see myself being someone who ends up owning multiple units in time. I am interested in doing my own filling and experimentation because I love gadgets. Thanks again everyone, you are giving me some great answers and lots to think about.

Also, does anyone have experience/opinion on automatic vs manual batteries?

I agree with the last post. I've been vaping for about 18 months and have tried just about everything. I started with a blu, then tried 510s, 801s, 901s, Janty Stick, eG0...
My biggest problem was with the atomizers costing me too much. I've heard of people using the same one for weeks, but I never got more than a week out of mine. My wife an I both quit smoking so I was filling carts and testing atomizers constantly. Also, I would inevitably get caught somewhere with atomizers crapping out on me.
It became even worse when I discovered Johnson Creek smoke juice. I love their juice. We realized my wife had sensativity to PG and their VG juice was a blessing. Now she won't vape anything but Wisconson Frost. JC juice seems to make atomizers die at light speed. Longest I could get one to last was 3 days.
That's when I switched to 808s and started buying cartomizers. I still got blanks for my wife and filled them with JC juice. I was very happy to NOT have to constantly worry about being stuck without atomizers, spending a fortunte on them, or filling tons of carts. (I've just been using V4L's WOW vapor cartos.. very nice)
I would recommend 808s for that reason alone. No fuss, good vapor, tons of choice in flavors and battery sizes/colors.
If you don't care about the size or the extra fuss... For the best flavor, throat hit, etc. I would go with a mod. I just recently got the GGTS + AVS. Definately not analog looking! Actually the full PV with AVS (Auto Vapn System) kind of looks like a lightsaber. LOL
I've got 7.4 volts going to a high voltage atomizer and I've never had a vape like this before... The AVS seems like kind of a necessity because of how much juice it goes through. The only thing left to find out is how well the atomizers can handle the JC juice. One this is for sure though, I'll be using high voltage devices from here on out, 808s only when I have to.

Eekaa Chu,

Definately manual batteries, no question about it.
Auto is just one more thing not to work right. The manual button will became second nature and you will learn to appreciate the fact that you have control over when the PV is firing. I've had some autos that worked ok, but it didn't do anything to make the PV better. In my opinion, it only has the potential to make the PV worse.

PS - if you love gadgets you'd love the GGTS + AVS. :)
