Hey guys. I am about a 2 pack a day smoker and I smoke non filtered too. I was wondering what the superior route to engage in would be. I am looking for the biggest "throat hit" like everyone of course. Should I get 901, 801, 510 attys. Which brands seem to be the best other than the silver bullet (out of stock). Thanks!

I got the same setup. Mine's a tornado. eGo/tornado is both made by Joye. I use a regular 510 atty and a drip tip on mine and it rocks. Dripping kind of simulates a "smoke break" in a way cuz u get that awesome first hit and then you get an amount of vapor and then its done and you have to refill. and you'll know it when you have to refill. lol. The biggest factor that'll get ya a good fix is the mg nic juice your using. I vape 16-18mg depending on what i get. For you it sounds like your pretty hardcore in your smoking and i would suggest starting at 24 and get a few juices that are higher than that even. Some people like up to 36. Give something along those lines a try! i've converted LOTs of smoking friends to vaping!

510 attys do give a good TH - you'd likely want an HV mod (5v or 6v) to get even more OOMPH, so basic 510 kit is probably not worth it, maybe even the EgO might be a bit 'soft' for you, but the atties will do you proud.
CHUCK is a good one you can get many others too. Saber touch, precise, super6, xhaler, black bullet, GLV - search all those if you fancy a long long read lol.
Depends what price range you're interested in.

I think its cool you are looking for a mod as your first device :). Most people look for something with lots of leds and small size.

There are tons of mods out there, look for something that can do 3.7 and 6v. Whichever mod you choose I would start out at 3.7v. 6v has a learning curve and each little mistake could easily pop a $10 atty. $10 isn't much money but if you pop several attys a day while learning it could really turn into a money pit. A mistake at 3.7v will usually result in a bad taste and a mistake at 6v your buying a new atty.

As far as attys go people just have different preferences. I have tried 510, joye 302 (801), and 901. I prefer the 510 at 3.7 and 6v but I love the 302 at 5v lol.

I agree with xmas about tastyvapor, best juice I have tried and dirt cheap prices.

Happy Vaping

esp, You might consider going straight to a battery mod. I didn't really get a super satisfying throat hit until I started using a high voltage mod. I'm using 6 volts with a high resistance 901 atomizer from HV SLB 901 5.2? Atomizer Lots of people in here say that the 510 gives you more vapor and better throat hit but I built a mod with a 510 connecter and ordered some HV 510 attys. I tried it the other day and I gotta say, at 6 volts I'm getting more vapor and a better hit from my 901s. Better flavor too.

thanks a bunch for the info guys. I'm not quite sure what you mean though when you say an HV mod.... what is that exactly? could i use that mod on a Joye510?

A mod is the battery unit itself. You then add attomizer or cartomizers, usually of your choice.

I started with a 510 kit, it wasn't enough to get me over the hump and got myself a couple of chucks which I like to use with 510 cartomizers because I want the simplicity and longer vape between fills. It's just a more powerful device. Some mods, like a chuck can be used with two different types of batteries (you supply the batteries that go into the mod-think of a flashlight) One type of battery is a lower voltage, 3.7 and is a good vape, the other is two batteries that will give you 6v. 6Volts vape hotter, gives you more throat hit and vaper but depending on the e-liquid you use, it tastes good or burnt. The nice thing is you can bounce back and forth depending on your tastes, the liquids, and your needs.

The batteries for the mods also last longer, at heavy vaping you will be recharging 510 units non-stop but with a battery mod unit you can pretty much vape all day if not longer without having to recharge.

Hi espplayer7. Jim here. Been smoking 1 1/2 - 2 packs non filtered for 45+ years. Just switched to vaping 60 days ago. Had 5 analogs the first two days of vaping and have been smoke free for 58 days. I have a KR808D-1 from V4L and love it. I get a good strong TH, good flavor, and good vapor. I started with 36mg for about 2 weeks, then went to 48mg for about 10days (seemed like I was getting a heart flutter) and am now DIY and amking a 12mg and it's working fine. A slightly sweet capuccino or cafe mocha flavor seems to satisfy any urges I might get. The slight scratchy / tickley feeling seems to occur when there is too much PG so I add a little more VG to my juice and then drip about 4 drops into my cartomizer and that seems to fix it. Hope this helps.

This might have been mentioned but you can buy a disposable 510 from madvapes.com for 10 bucks. I would try that out to see if this is something you can do. Also get the highest nicotine strength they have prob 24 mg.GL and Welcome!! ps. I have found even tho I could not stand menthol cigarettes that menthol e juice gives me the most cigarette like experience. Hope this helps

I'm doing the menthol thing and never smoked menthol. But the throat hit from the menthol tops everything I've tried.

I'm using a DSE601 E-Pipe. I like the battery life of the 3.7v in the pipe and the big cart. I chain vape and have to change the battery out about 3 times a day. I top off the carts as needed, and I need to do that a lot. I'm probably vaping 2-3 mil a day. According to the Halo eye dropper that comes with the Halo juice, 1 mil = 35 drops.

I'm vaping Strictly E Juice 24mg menthol. Big cold throat hit.

I was a 2 1/2 pack a day Kent III ultra lights. I smoked for 40 years from when I was 16 and I'm 56 now.
