Hi All,

I am a very new e-cig owner (2 weeks)

I bought the Blu and a joye 510.

I like both and am very pleased with the purchases but now I need help with liquids for refilling.

I dont want to keep buying prefilled carts and really want to start experimenting with new flavors but i am suffering from to many options syndrome!

I have decided on about 8 flavors I want to try from various vendors but I am really lost on what strengths to order. Reading through reviews has only confused me more.

I know that I prefer vg over Pg hands down. PG caused my ears to itch and throat to hurt after trying a friends 100% pg stuff.

My real confusion is the MG strengths.

I am a 2 pack a day Marlboro light smoker. From what i'v read this leads to me choosing 16mg liquids if i am right????

The biggest question I have is about the taste of flavors at varrying nic levels. I got recommendations to order 24mg cause its the best flavor???????

does the higher the nic = more taste?

seems to me like the more nic u add, the harsher the hit would be. I want the flavor to shine through, not the rip my throat out crap.

sorry this is rambling but I am flat lost on this issue and it's driving me nuts.

Here's an example so maybe i make more sence:

I want to try Johnson Creek Tennesee Cured.

If i order 24mg would it taste any different than if I ordered 18mg?
Would the 24mg burn my throat more than 18?

I do want a comparable throat hit to my light analogs if that possible but I don't JUST want hit if it sacrafices the flavor. make any sence?

I don't want to waste money buying 2 levels of the same thing to test when its 10.00 a pop. 160.00 for testing is not where I want to go..lol

Please help.

I't been almost two years since I smoked a cigarette but back in the day I went through a pack a day of Marlboro Lights. Because consistency in e-liquid varies wildly from brand to brand I'm not sure there is a hard and fast rule that can be used to answer your question. Some products such as Tasty Vapor I prefer in low nic form. Ms T's tastes better to me in a mid range. Typically when ordering from a new source I'll look for 12 to 14 mg versions. If I like the juice and order again I'll adjust my order accordingly.

Crash, if you are looking at Johnson Creek, make sure you look at their Red Oak line. It is VG. The regular stuff is PG. They do have Tenn. Cured in their Red Oak (VG) line now, too. Highest they go with VG is 18 mg. You could always start there and if it is too much just add a little more VG to it to cut down the nic.

I would suggest thinking about a few factors here first, if you have a liquid that you REALLY like the flavor of and have the TIME to do so, you're going to be glued to your PV and I'd suggest ordering it at 18mg, but not lower than that. If you're NOT going to be glued to it, I'd suggest sticking to 24mg. You've JUST 'quit' smoking and the higher the nic content, the more likely you are to KEEP off the analogs! If it IS too strong for you, it's really easy to dilute it with some unflavored PG, but it's NOT easy to RAISE the mg's.

If you can, order some at sample sizes and see what's best for you.

For a juice recommendation, I'd HIGHLY recommend Tasty Vapor. Geoff can NOT make a 'nasty' tasting liquid if he TRIED, IMHO. The 'Forum Favorite' seems to be, by FAR, his Atomic Cinnacide. It's AMAZING stuff if you like cinnamon, it's like vaping Big Red gum..BEFORE the flavor falls out of it, of course. :)

Good luck!

Wow there are some folks with cast iron lungs on the forum today. I had a bottle of 24mg Cuban Cigar from a Chinese Mfr a while back. To my throat it vaped like a porcupine dipped in gasoline.
Remember that if you cut your juice with VG you will loose flavor pretty quickly. To piggy back on domino38.... give Tasty Vapor a try, the doublers will allow you to cut a 48mg bottle down to your exact taste with out loosing flavor.

Wow,

Thank you all for the information!

This is a long reply so I appologize....

Crand.... TY... Sounds like a good idea, order small sample at mid range and then if taste is good but nic needs changed I'll have a great base point to use.

SirVette... TY... 24mg to start sounds high/mid so same line of thought there. I was balparking it at 16 so thanks for running the real numbers for me there.

Aschmidy...TY... Will certainly do just that! I didn't notice Johnson original was 100% pg...that woulda been a OOPS! Looks like 18mg will be perfect starting point on them.

Domino38 / Crand... TY Both... My list of juices I want to initially try contain 3 from Tasty.

I was looking at Tasty Vapor earlier today before posting this topic and I didnt quite get the doubler and juice thing so I emailed them earlier and got a response back in like an hour. Geoff replied and just about stated verbatem what you two suggested.

He recommended that based on my analog usage, i should start off by buying 24mg and try it at that level first to see if i liked the flavor plus 24mg was about the upper end of where he felt I needed to be coming off 2 packs a day analogs. (sounds like thats concured with here)
He explaied that if the flavor was liked but the hit was to strong,
I could then place an order for the doubler, to cut the liquid with, to lower the nic level without losing any flavor. He also gave me a few mixing ratios to use to take a 48mg bottle down to lower levels. sorta got a free lesson on how to make a 1oz purchase go alot farther!

I haven't even tried his stuff and he's telling me how to do it and get exactly what i want the first time plus showing me how to do it cheaper in the long run... I gotta order from him first, He has already showed his customer service without me even being a customer. first order will be to him period!

The 3 flavors I want to try from him initially are:

1 Tobacco
2 German Chocolate Cake
3 Tasty Fingers

I read a great review on his tobacco flavor and seemed to be a generally liked juice by most that have purchased it. now that I understand the mixing thing, this will be a great way to dial it in if i like the flavor.

no, I am not expecting it to taste anything like my old ciggys, I doubt i would ever find something that tastes the same and I really doubt if I would like it if i did. I smoked like a chimney for years and I NEVER smoked a cigarette that tasted good. I did smoke the ones that didn't burn my throat to badly and got me a buzz, oh, and I smoked the ones that stank and caused my house to turn yella, I even smoked quite a few that liked to give me extra button holes in my favorite shirts and added personal touches to the interior of my car, but I never, NEVER, smoked a great tasting cigarette.

I posted a reply in another thread about trying my analog after spending my first full day exclusively vaping on my 510. A friend gave me some stuff to try called dulses. I liked the flavor but it was altered by him with pg to get him 12mg I chain vaped it cause there was no buzz at all and it is what set off the itchy sore throat stuff. anyway, I tried an analog just before bed to see if the day had made a difference and YES, that was my last analog, IT WAS BAD!

The German Chocolate is simple because I am a chocolate freak! I have to find a choco vape... its a quest! I HAVE TO FIND A GREAT CHOCOLATE!

The tasty fingers was just a no brainer... I like butterfinger bars so gotta try it.

I also like the suggestion by you, Domino38, to cut some down even lower if it is going to be chain vaped. GOOD CALL! I hadn't consider that at all!
and due to this thought, thanks for the added input Crand about cutting with VG/PG and losing flavor. That makes sence since I would be diluting everything. will keep that in mind.

Last but not least, TY Lawnman3... I sorta laughed when I read your response. I ordered my 510 from Cignot and never even checked out the fluid section of the site. DOH! I know I will be reordering from them soon so I will make sure to check out the selections they offer, Now that I have a reference point to run from (18-24mg) I can make a more informed decision on what I order.

You all have helped me so much today, I was going nuts trying to figure out what the Bleep I was doing... TYTYTYTY!

I liked chocolate hazelnut a lot from the lorann flavorings. I hear ya on VG too, PG made my stomach hurt and feel bloated. I Highly recomment Chocolate hazelnut though, seriously... It rocks! I have some unopened too which I will be selling in a huge lot of all my ecig stuff since ive quit everything now! (I have to wait till my post count gets higher though, lol!
