My Vamo V5 finally kicked the bucket, so I decided to pick up a V6 off of fasttech (in the time it took to ship there are now V9s does anyone know what the deal with that is?) The main point of this post is because for some reason when I hook up my cartotank it just says "without atomizer". The same tank works fine on my old vision spinner, so did I just get a dud? Is there some way to fix this?

It's not making connection, you might be able to lift the 510 center pin a little to fix this. Be gentle and use a small screwdriver and work round slowly to lift the pin a LITTLE. This might work otherwise you just need to use a different atty or get an adapter 510 to 510 to get a better connection.

This.

I have the same problem periodically when I switch atomizers. Lift the center pin a little and make sure you screw down your atomizer fairly tightly.

KSD doesnt even have a Vamo v8 or 9 listed on their website and theyre the 'legit' makers of the original Vamo. Theyre only up to V7, which is a 40 watter, and I believe is fairly new as US vendors are just barely starting to get them.. Varitube had the V5 this weekend, checked their website today, its gone and now hes got the V7. Was gonna order a V6 from sweet-vapes today but found the V7 'Coming Soon' page which says itll be here at the beginning of the month.. Varitube just saved me from buying the older model hehe..

The V5 and the original V6 had pin problems in general.. The latest rev of the V6 has a screw adjustable 510.. You may not have an actual KSD Vamo, theres a few chinese manufacturers that are cloning them..

Thank you for all the help it was just a simple little screw and I turned it a bit and it works great!

Yup, I have the V6, and I've had to do this for a couple of my tanks. I like that it's slotted so I can use a small screwdriver. I've had to use the "toothpick method" with my MVP2 a couple of times :)

I just returned two Vamo V6s to FT. On both of them, the screw adjuster was so loose that it would screw itself in every time I changed tanks. I also didn't like that the V6 doesn't do VV and holding the right button no longer gives the coil resistance.

I know the V5 does VV, but does the right button show resistance, and does it have the spring loaded pin instead of the screw?

I am ok with wattage only and not voltage (I am used to using either method). The v6 does show voltage by the way on the screen (it only changes depending on the wattage). And my v6 is one of the early versions with the spring loaded pin. Pressing the right button shows a code on the v6. Mine says M347D... firmware version maybe?

I usually use wattage too, but I would like the option to use voltage when I want to. Mine showed resistance on the screen, but you had to press the fire button to see it. I much prefer holding the right button to check resistance without firing and taking a chance of burning up the coil. Pressing and holding the right button on mine showed absolutely nothing.

I am not 100% positive, but I use the fire button a lot to check (just a quick tap). And I am pretty sure there is a slight delay before the coils fires.

Yeah on the v7 you can tap it real quick to light up the display without it firing too.. Your coils shouldnt instantaneously heat regardless, you should be fine tapping it if you need to check your resistance. If youve done dry burns you know it takes a sec before the coil even starts glowing..

so the "authentic" vamo v7 from KSD is 40 watts right? I have been considering buying one from this website and just want to make sure im getting the KSD version. the pictures show no logo but there is a note saying that they "specifically ordered the no logo version for a sleeker look." also, on the vamos the screen is lit up at least a bit when not firing to show wattage at least right? and as a side note why would these other companies clone the vamo anyway? its so cheap and already made in china so why bother lol? what do they offer it at like $5-10 less? i know they are trying to make money but come on lol.

yeah im excited to get it as a cheap variable to bring to work in my pocket. I have an MVP2 for work now but want a vamo because i think a tube style mod fits better in my pocket than a box. also want something with a bit more power than 11 watts. Id be perfectly fine with the 20 watt but the 40 is something like only $5 more expensive. also i think the tube style mod is more stable in the pocket. might be just in my head but seems like it would stand up better to a force on it when i move or bend my leg compared to the mvp with atty attached. kinda should wait tho cuz have been spending way too much on vaping stuff lol!
