Just started using my 510 starter kit from Cignot this week.
Question- can I ...-u-me when the led blinks on draw that the batt is dead/dying?
How long does a charge usually take on a wall charger?
My wall charger led is blinking red, not a fast but a very slow blink. Normal?
I see now why I need extra batts- this thing barely lasted an hour or so this morning, without continuous vaping...
Thanks,
Dean

It's been a while since I used my stock batteries on my 510 but I don't remember the red LED blinking on the charger. I thought it remained red till charged, then turned green. I could definitely be wrong though, since my memory has begun to fail me quite often! :D

As far as battery longevity, 1 hour is about all I could get out of mine too. That's why I no longer use the stock batteries, just too much of a PITA for me, even with a PCC.

DeaninSJ, your battery should be fine, mine is the same. When the tip blinks it's dead. The wall charger is red when charging but will blink every so often; i believe this is just a false positive. I let mine charge until 5-10 minutes after its solid green to eliminate any false positives and i get a solid 2 hours of heavy vaping(never could understand why people bash the stock batteries?!) If your only getting 1 hour of use, your either a super heavy vaper or not charging the battery fully. Maybe look into a mega battery or mod if it bothers you.

It's been a roller coaster few days for me. But a forum buddy has been helping me keep a level head, as well as you guys. I wanted everything about vaping to be perfect right away...it should have been idiot-proof and I'm just the idiot to prove it! LOL!
Batt just finished charging and I gave it a little extra as you suggested.
I was afraid at first that they could be over-charged or something but as I read it, they can't.

You really cant do bad by lithium batteries. I have alot of experience with lithiums because i fly rc helis and i've even made a few packs myself.

As for the roller coaster, i second that. I've been vaping 2 months now and started on a Volcano/Blu. Now i've had my 510 for two weeks and only just started to like it about 4 days ago. It constantly flooded or leaked, and then out of no where it would get a burnt taste. I've started using the PTB made easy mod, and give it more force when dragging(keep the cig flat or slightly elevated for the first few drags). Hang in there and just keep experimenting, eventually you'll get it and it'll all be an afterthought.

An hour is typical. Depends on how much you depressed the button of course. The flashing signals the battery is dead, and I think it is 20 flashes. It will flash 5 times when screwed into a charger, and the charger light will turn red, and blink green every 5 seconds to indicate charging. If you do not see that blink it means charging may not be occurring, and I've found that often means the batt terminal has juice on it or the inner threads on the batt are dirty. They can be cleaned with a paper towel shoved into it and turned back and forth. Ideally you want to recharge when the vapor starts to die off, not when the batt flashes, but with the regular 510 batts this is not easy as they do not last very long. They 160 mAh batts. Mega batts are 280 mAh, so a bit less that twice the usable time. A passthrough for a 510 generally uses a 380 mAh batt, so can be used for about 2.5 hours offline, and almost endlessly while plugged into a USB...highly recommended is you are online a lot.

A PCC is good to recharge regular batts for on the go, and charges them faster than an AC charger, and the PCC itself can be recharged off USB.

Longer battery life is usually reported from '510' users who have one of the 2nd tier, high ohm, clone 510's. A low ohm Joye atty sucks a lot of current. An hour sounds about right.

My first 510 was from VaporSpot and was a BE510. Battery would last about 3hours with heavy vaping, but now it has died and will not hold a charge... 20 days after I bought it...

I have decided that 1 hour of vaping has got to be better than batteries dying and spending as much as I did on cigs on batts, so I am now waiting on my Joye in the mail.. if that annoys me as bad, I will consider a mod... which one should I go for? *starts research muhuhahaha*

I really love my 510 Bartleby. USB charges and uses a 14500 900 mAh batt. I get about 4 hours of heavy vaping from mine...or endless when plugged into a USB. Puts a bit more voltage on the coil than a regular or mega 510 batt, and I've found this makes a big difference in vaping quality, TH, atty health in general. Clogs are rare now...in fact attys that were chronically clogged before are opening up. Thanks for the tip on the 2nd tier attys. Is BE510 the only higher ohm ones? What about SBL or DSE?

The 14500 is a terrific batt for the normal 510 atty. The eGo and Tornado are also very good too. Cheap 14500 box mods are avaliable to for about $30.
