My husband (Briathel on the boards) and I just bought our second set of batteries and flavors. Additionally, we just received a package from Backwoods Brew -- Casablanca and Virginia. We're lifelong analog smokers, so this is wonderful. The first flavor we tried was too sweet (definitely had a caramel flavor) and didn't hit the cigarette button. And, it certainly didn't go well with Diet Dr. Pepper. So, now we are on our second flavor -- still not tasting like a cigarette, but it isn't as sweet.
I'm definitely interested in trying Casablanca because of all of the rave reviews. I'm still having the issue with the sweetness, and I'm a bit worried about that. Any suggestions on a non-sweet tasting brew?

Welcome to ecf....
Remember that analog(cig) killed our taste buds. so something you may not like now, you may in a couple of months. I was a die hard analog smoker of around 40 years and I now cannot stand the taste of smell of anything tobacco. funny, I never thought I'd say that....
remember to drink plenty of liquids and another vendor that has(so I heard) great analog tasting juices is freedomsmokeusa....may want to give them a look.

You may want to let it steep as well (let it sit for about a week) as that will let the full flavor come through.

Also, I would try to look for some flavors that sound truly enjoyable to you. For example I have a banana nut bread from tastyvapor.us that I got because I like real banana nut bread. By making a distinction away from real cigarettes you make it harder to just go back to smoking, and open your taste buds to a great experience.

just my two cents...

Nothing is going to taste like burning paper, burning leaves, and burning 4000 chemicals including formaldehyde, cyanide and carpet glue.

If you want a non sweet tobacco then don't buy RY4, 555, Honey Flue Cured and you will run into other sweet ones because real cigs have honey and cocoa in them and stuff like that. And I recommend high PG low VG because VG is sweeter.

I used FreedomSmokeUSA Desert Ship (a Turkish Blend stronger than Casablanca, nutty and a bit pungent, reminds many of a freshly opened pack). And they have a lot of other tobaccos - the flavor range ones have selectable PG/VG and the Specialties unfortunately are 50/50 (fine for an atomizer but I won't put that thick in cartomizers). Go check out their selection. And take a look at Halocigs and Vaporstation - both have popular tobaccos.

And BTW most of the taste of tobacco vapor is in the smell. Your tongue can only sense sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami (MSG). That is probably why many like sweet tobaccos - to have SOME taste on the tongue. You need to smell the vapor. Cigs dumped them smoke all over you - you couldn't avoid smelling them. With ecigs you need to make the effort to smell the vapor.
