Brass Bo-Bomb...

Had some time to smash together another mod today. Wanted to use all the 18650 batts I already have so just another basic tube mod. Decided to try my hand at something with a switch this time. You may have seen my Copper Mod which was compression fire. This monster is made entirely out of Brass parts. If you haven't worked with brass then you wouldn't understand how heavy this thing is. All parts were from Home Depot and RadioShack except the battery connector which is a standard 510 from MadVapes. It vapes awesome but I won't be carrying this one around with me. It will sit on my desk and just look awesome. Build cost was under $15. I'll be building a tank mod for it sometime pretty soon. Grabbed the wrong size stoppers today....

I was already thinking SteamPunk with this one since it will basically just sit on my desk and look awesome. And Ive been dying to bust into my box of weird stuff. A friend of mine repairs A/V equipment and gives me the awesome bits from broken stuff...

Got a little fancy today. Made a Tank Mod to match this brass tube. Still shooting for SteamPunk and I think Im on track with this tank...

Tank was a bit of a rush job. I got lazy and didn't pull out the drill press so my holes were just a tiny bit off center like maybe 1mm and the rubber rings I made to hold the CE2 tube and base aren't perfect. Both things are easily fixed when I have more time. The off-angle of the tube inside is causing it to leak if you turn it upside down. Since I have NO intention of traveling with this 3lb mod in my pocket Im not worried about it right now. It vapes great and is holding around 15ml of my DIY Caramel Maple Cheesecake juice

Total build cost for Tank was under $5. $7 if you include the CE2 I used inside...

Clear portion is 1"OD x 3/4"ID clear vinyl food grade tubing. I got it at Home Depot a long time ago. I use it for my aquariums. A roll of 10 FEET is $15 or close to that. You should be able to get it by the foot for around $2/ft though.

Other Materials:

2 - 3/4" Brass garden hose end caps (These actually just about thread onto this tubing so they hold themselves on)
2 - 15/16" Rubber stoppers (Get smaller stoppers that fit. Cutting these down to fit is too much of a hassle)
1 - CE2 Carto R5

The seals are all internal with the rubber stoppers so the brass caps are just for show and to clean up the tube ends. I'll be getting smaller stoppers or making Delrin seals for a more solid build. I actually just took the tank apart because the carto decided to do die on me. Not really happy. Im not gonna put it back together until I can re-cut/drill the parts I want to. Still this is a good cheap tank build and another option for all the modders...

Yeah, its big and HEAVY. With tank its over 6" tall. Really wish I had a food scale to weigh it...

I'm far from done modding this tube. Im working on a ridiculous overly complicated external switch mechanism and adding more SteamPunk bits of course...

Grand tank there, the tubing really looks like it is metal over clear tubing. Do the stoppers cover all the brass from the caps? Are you serious about the 3 lbs? That brass tube must be like some of the galvanized (?) plumbing stuff we have here.

The brass isn't exposed to juice anywhere otherwise it would corrode quickly and I've have some seriously tainted juice. The tank is sealed with the vinyl tube and the rubber stoppers. Brass caps are just to finish the look and make it aesthetically pleasing....

FWIW you can get aluminum pipe nipples to lighten it up. You could then also claim "aircraft aluminum" body.

Nice. I've never seen those mods before. Guessing Sir Larry sells them? Its obviously the same parts I like that this one is comically heavy. I might order some of those aluminum tubes for future modding though. Great link. I think its weird that he would grind down the extra threads on the tube instead of cut them like I decided to. My pipe was just too short to trim both ends but now I know what length to get if I wanted to trip both ends...

Looks like he just lathes down the tube and then polishes everything. Nothing too complicated if you have a lathe which I dont anymore. Plus the touch button of course. I'll sell somebody this one for $99 with the tank... lol
