Hey guys my spare brass cap for brass monkee rda is starting to taste like an old penny, I gave her a good, yet quick hot water wash with handsoap and dried her off but it didn't help much. It's not that distracting, and some juices mask the flavor but I was wondering if this was normal?

-I'm not really a fan of brass as that it's possibly hazardous (even though it's a long shot, and it's got a press-fitted ss sleeve on the inside of the cap), and I don't much care for the gold look, so I'm not using it much anyway. It's main use is for the occasional hot sub-ohm, with 1/8th" drilled holes, so no real worries if there's no solution.

I had a brass monkey but sold it before I even used it. My main gripe was that both top caps werent adjustable air flow, so I just never got around to using it. I know the inside is stainless steel but the top where the drip tip goes isnt, thats still brass. Maybe thats where the taste is coming from? Not too sure, I know some people worry about it and some dont but ive never found a definitive answer on whether these copper and brass top caps are ok to vape with.

Yeah rip trippers warned me before I used it, I don't like using it myself for that reason, I have it drilled to 1/8th dual airholes for the occasional cloud competition but I think it's retired now. I've polished and coated it in polyurethane, even around the drip tip, and that will keep cancer from going into my body and keep the patina away too.

-The stainless steel has fully adjustable airflow for DUAL coil only (1/8th each max), however I drilled three 1/16th airholes side by side opposing the dual options, and then connected and smoothed out all three holes to make one big slot. Boom, now I can have single, or dual 1/8th inch airflow on the purdy stainless steel cap. The slot I made myself is actually a little bigger than 1/8th, it's the best RDA I own now, and I can fit the biggest dual coils I've ever been able to in it. The chambers are nice and thick/pretty small for that excellent dense cloud, I couldn't be happier with the craftsmanship. It's the only RDA I've ever had that I can screw into my mech with one flick of the wrist, it actually spins all the way to the bottom they are so buttery.

-That's wierd that yours didn't come with adjustable airflow, are they cloning it already?!

The stainless had dual 1/8th's (mine now has a single option as well), and the spare brass cap comes with a tiny hole and a divot to drill them yourself to whatever size you want. You really should've tried it, I prefer it over my atomic, trident, and helios.
