Brass contact screw

At what point, or when would it be advisable to change this little brass screw? Does it corrode over time? I've been using the same contact screw for what seems like over a year and have never thought about changing it out, yet I know that the kits come with extra ones.

Hey Milo ...

I change mine out about every 6 months or so. Starts to get a bit dirty & grungy, and figure it's time for a change.

I have yet to really see one corrode as far as not working. The brass screws are quite impressive for what they are

So, my suggestion - assuming you see no ill performance - don't worry about it If it gets dirtier than you'd like, change it

It's just brass, I would take some brass cleaner and clean it. I can't imagine it would have much wear.

Exactly ...

There really isn't much wear, it just gets dirty. I still end up replacing mine everything 6 months or so when I do a super thorough break down and clean
