I got tired with the amount of maintenance keeping my copper mods shiny so I went and pick up this metal care kit from Everbrite Coatings called Protectaclear. It forms a self leveling, clear, food safe, heat resistant glaze (they claim it can be used on grill grates) that protects your mod from tarnishing and scratches. It's simple to apply and can be easily removed using a chemical solvent called xylene if/when needed. I went from polishing every 3-4 days to .... so far it's been 4 weeks and mod is still gleaming.

Salt and vinegar. It's organic, and way more effective. Trust me. Mix like a 1/4 cup of vinegar with about a teaspoon of salt. Use it like you would your toxic chemicals.

The post-cleanup (the one that ensures you aren't vaping on all those nasty chemicals off-gassing from your toxic stuff) is a simple hot water rinse.

Don't know, it just does.... You're adding heat to the equation, which also anodizes some metals (the opposite of what we want).

I wouldn't say it "polishes" it, but it removes the oxidation layer and brings it back to its original finish, which if you've already polished it in the past, will restore that same shine.

I skip the baking soda and soak that most of those youtube videos suggest. Salt/vinegar/elbow grease. :)
