I am happy to say that today I have finally broke even on my purchase. Which means from here on out I will have saved money from NOT smoking. I've had my e-cig for about a month, but just recently stopped purchasing cigarettes. 1.5 weeks ago if I remember right. After 1.5 weeks of continuous use I have broke even. How long did it take other people?

Same here... but I kinda have to force myself, until a dual atty 6v mod that's ergonomically designed is introduced
I have not worried about it too much yet. I figure since I am finally showing some sense the dollars will take care of themselves.
Is there a smoke free banner that shows the break even point? That would be cool. I wouldn't have to do the math myself (math is not one of my skills)

We use to go through about 1 1/2 cartons a week. Buying vaping supplies for two, it took about 10-12 weeks before we broke even.
In was smoking rollies and here in Europe it was costing me 1,50€/day (6.5€ for 40grams of tobacco, i could have had better prices by buying 500g boxes but i didn't.) Now I'm vaping 3/4mg a day which costs me around 2,00€/day. But i feel so much better than when smoking cigarettes !
heaven gifts by standard shipping... and i wont pay the extra for faster shipping because it rivals the cost of the product... i ordered my last shipment 1 week and 4 days ago - nothing in the mailbox.
In 6 months I've averaged $280 a month on my PVs/supplies (I've only bought hardware from 1 place). I've spent more than my ciggies would cost on this endeavor but I'm having way much more fun. Money isn't a problem for me, finding the right equipment is, and I'm thinking about branching out. I seem to be using alot of eliquid as well but I love the variation in flavors, which is something ciggies don't offer.

If you really think about it I think the break even point is really the first carton or two that we don't buy depending on where you live. I live in Michigan and a KR808D-1 starter kit and some extra carts and juice is the same cost as a carton of Marlboro's or Winstons. I would go through 3-4 cartons in a month so that's at least $150 or more each month compared to maybe $50-$60 in juice and carts if I need them that month. Of course the base cost increase with each kit that you add to the selection.
I feel real guilty about spending so much on ecigs. I have to accept one of my worst character defects: when married and paying for the "American Dream", it really scares me to spend money on myself. I need an exorcism.
I thought I was done, though now I've finally opened my mind to candy/fruit flavors and I want a setup other then my 510 which seems to only be ideal for tobacco flavors. I'm sitting on my hands trying not to spend any more until the first of the year. Then, I will be done. Or at least I'll lose the guilt and continue to bathe in one of my true pleasures in life

Basically, I've been in the black since the first week I started vaping.
Decided on a M401.
VSlims 120's were 76.48 a carton, two months ago in NJ. I smoked between 1 1/2 and 2 packs a day. Since I started vaping, I've smoked 1 and 3/4s packs of analogs.
I've been cutting my juice with VG, menthol crystals and Everclear. I could order a kit a week and still be ahead of the game.
Between discounts at VaporOptions from Adam and freebies from LiteCig (gotta love those 00 invoices and the free stuff Shawn provides,) I was really lucky to get great prices on start-up equipment, cartridges and juice.
I'm waiting for two 50ml bottles of juice to come in from China. (With shipping, it will be a little over $19.) I want to compare the taste. Bought 5 atomizers in the classifieds for $25.
You really have to search around for good pricing and balance that against the reputation of the seller.
And it really helps to check your favorite vendors daily. Just found a 50% off sale on juice.

I spent about $160 - $200 a month. I could go crazy buying PVs for that money.
Since money is tight right now I've kept my spending to about $150. I should have enough juice and parts to last another month too.
The parts seem to last longer than I thought. I'm now expecting to spend $20 - $40 a month for fairly heavy use. One part + 60ml juice per month.
To be fair, the 510 and juice is all I need to replace cigarettes. I would like to try some other PVs once I get some extra money to burn (vaporize).
A lot of guys on the forum are kinda hobbyists and have tried most of the models and juice flavors. To me that money doesn't count since they are spending extra money on a hobby not so much the habit.
It really helps to get the right equipment the first time. If I had fallen for the SE kit I'd be $150 in the hole and maybe still buying cigarettes.
