Since I discovered USP-grade VG at the store, I decided to go out and shop for some flavorings. ended up getting twelve of them!

here's the haul:

McCormick Mint (definitely different than true menthol. I will use sparingly)
McCormick Raspberry
McCormick Coconut (rather mild)
Alcirelli Anise (I don't even like licorice, but I thought I'd pick it up. it's starting to stink up my cabinet already)
Preema Saffron (saw it at the middle eastern market and could not resist. sadly, they didn't carry jasmine)
SAC Ice cream Soda (smells kinda like Big Red soda and tutti frutti. very strong stuff)
Wilton Butter
Wilton Clear Vanilla
Wilton Almond
Watkins Maple
Watkins Root Beer
NOW Better Stevia (liquid extract, no flavorings. just water, stevia, and alcohol)

I mixed up some raspberry yesterday, along with coconut mint. The raspberry was rather nice. I could hardly taste the coconut mint, so I guess I need to up the flavor on it. Oh, and I have no liquid nicotine, so all of these experiments are nic-free. Today, with my new purchases, I mixed up two more liquids: Waffles and also a batch of Root Beer. For the waffles I used maple, butter, vanilla, and stevia. I vaped it right after mixing and the maple and butter seem overpowered by the vanilla. It tastes like sweet cake batter. Maybe it will mature in time?

For the root beer I used the root beer extract, a little of the ice cream soda, and stevia. The ice cream soda must be very strong because the smell is overwhelming the root beer. I added some more VG and root beer extract and I'm going to let it sit.

Looks like I am going to need some more cartos!

Im not sure many of these are generally used for vaping. Most of the store bought are weak extracts that I believe would have to be used in high concentration. I dont use them. I know some people have with varied success.

Btw, please be sure to check and see if the butter from wiltons and any vanillas or cream flavors do not contain any diacetyl BEFORE you continue using them. Maybe one of the more veteran diy'ers will know but err on the side of caution please.

Thanks for the reply, buffaloguy. It seems most of the flavors I bought are not very strong, as you mentioned they might not be. I checked around about the diacetyl in the butter flavor, and according to someone on ECF who says they contacted Wilton, it does not contain diacetyl. I'm relieved but It sure got me wondering about what chemicals are in the flavorings we vape, and what they might do long-term.

I made a successful jasmine liquid, but now I'm wondering if I should just stick to flavoring my coffee, ice cream, etc.

My jasmine liquid tastes like drinking some jasmine tea: very pleasant but like tea it gives me a bit of a stomachache on an empty stomach.

also, a possible consequence of vaping liquids with food coloring: the past two days when using my neti pot I have noticed the... result coming out rather brown. The dark liquid I have came from the mall's e-cig kiosk. I wish they wouldn't color the liquids!
