A lot of people start vaping and find themselves back on the icky sticks.

Here are the two main reasons why.

The throat hit in vaping nicotine and Propylene Glycol can be irritating to the throat.

If you have problem coughing as you puff.

There are two things you can do.

1. See if you can get 60/40 or 70/30 ejuice. This will really tone down the throat hit caused by the Propylene Glycol.

2. You can cut the ejuice by putting ejuice in a clean ejuice bottle. You can fill it 2/3 or 3/4 full then cut the ejuice with USP grade of Vegetable Glycerin (USP United States Pharmaceutical grade usually 99.5% pure). Fill the bottle with Vegetable Glycerin shake well and let the full bottle of ejuice sit for a few days before vaping

This now full bottle of ejuice the PG and nicotine levels has been cut 25 or 33%. The flavor has been cut also but a few drops of a flavor concentrate can boost the flavor close to where it was.

If you still have problems you may be allergic to Propylene Glycol. If this is the case you should consider making your own ejuice. It is not that hard.

The first thing you need is a very good ejuice calculator.

You tell the calculator of VG to PG, the size batch you are making, the ratio of VG to PG in the nicotine and flavor the strength of the nicotine you want and the calculator will spit out the formula.

You want to start making small batches and you want to print out the recipe.

Making small batches means less waste if you make something you don't like.

If it is a fantastic vape you have a recipe to duplicate it.

If the calculator tells you to add x ml of flavor; only add 1/2-3/4 of the required flavor. You can always add more later but not take it out if the flavor is too intense.

What you need to make ejuice.

Close the door to keep the kids and pets out,

A clean table

A pair or nitrite or latex gloves.

Four syringes with blunt tips called a blood needle. Use red fingernail polish and paint a red X on the side of one of the syringes. The red X will remind you that syringe is used only with nicotine. Nicotine in strong concentrations is poison.

Now use the other syringes and combine all of the PG VG and flavor.

Open the nicotine and measure out the amount of nicotine required then rinse the specially marked syringe and put away in a safe place with the bottle of nicotine. Close the bottle of ejuice shake well and put away to steep for two days to a week before vaping.

The other three ingredients are harmless and won't hurt if they get on your skin. Wash out the other syringes and put your gloves away and of course wash up any spills on the table. Open the door and go about your life.

Excellent post, well done. I will add: don't forget to shake the bottle of nic juice really well before drawing out what you need with the syringe. I also think, while nic is tough to handle safely in high concentrations, you can buy it much lower, like 10% (10mg/ml) or even lower, and it is much safer to handle. Anything above this concentration, I'd add eye protection and elbow length chemist's gloves and an apron. The diluted nic can also be bought in with various base mixes in different PG/VG ratios.
