First, no one here is a doctor, seek medical help. With that being said, you could just be coming down with a common chest cold or something. We tend to think that because we started one thing every other thing (good or bad) is tied to it especially if it's a major life change that just occurred, we tend to forget that people get sick normally.

No need to be snippy with me, that being said, I understand I'm not speaking with medical professionals. Also, at 50 years old I know the difference between a cold and general breathing problems. I am mearly inquiring as to whether this can be a normal reaction to vaping or not. If it is normal then I'd like to know the cause. If it's not normal I'll see my doctor. Thanks.

I wasn't being snippy, and I'm sorry if you took it that way. The I'm not a dr part is just to avoid liability of any advice given.

This same question apears a lot, in one form or another, it's more of a canned response than a snippy one.

There's a whole subforum for medical questions and anwers that you can find any answer to any question that you may have, here: Health, Safety and E-Smoking

and for quiting smoking and starting to vape here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...hen-quitting-tobacco-changing-ecigarette.html

And I hope you get well quickly. :)

I wanted to go as 'natural' as I could with vaping, thinking it would be better for me and all that jazz. I started vaping 100% VG juice and it gave me a really heavy feeling chest, I would wake up feeling like a sumo had been sitting on me all night.

I have now switched to 50/50 and everything feels a whole lot better.

I started vaping the first of the year (2014) and noticed some congestion early on. Was using PG mix at that time. Switched
to VG and most of the symptoms went away. I smoked cigs for 57 years and know I have some lung damage which probably
has something to do with congestion issues. I will say that since vaping I don,t cough and wheeze anymore and my doctor says
If I must get my nicotine fix that ecigs are the lessor of all evils.

Not sure if this may be your issue or not but, I get very congested and do have some shortness of breath if I use higher than 30% VG in my mixes.

When I first started having the problems, I used the process of elimination. Vaped 100% VG (10% distilled water) with no flavoring for a few days. Next up was the PG. This is the best method to use in order to narrow down what may be causing problems for you IMO

Hang in there and good luck!

I've had some breathing problems, too, but I think at least part of it has to do with allergies. They're really bad this time of year for everyone around here. I've been vaping 50/50 PG/VG but am going to try both 20/80 and 80/20 to see if it makes a difference, since I mix my own now. A lot of people on here have complained of a sensitivity to PG. My doctor has me on a rescue inhaler is is considering adding a daily long-term inhaler. My wife (a nurse) has had me doing some breathing treatments with her nebulizer (using albuterol), too. (She's asthmatic). That helps a lot. It will be interesting to see what the change in my base mix does.

Well, STOP! What happens with the symptoms if you put the PV down and don't vape anything for a couple hours? Do the symptoms improve or go away completely? If they do then you have some kind of adverse or allergic reaction to an ingredient in your liquids that needs further investigation.

Assuming that's what is going on here (like I said assuming) what liquid(s) are you vaping? Do you know the PG/VG ratio of your liquids?
